Hello from windy Lismore. It's more or less stopped raining so I've escaped the chores for a bit and am enjoying a bit of fresh air (very fresh, actually!).
Best wishes to you all!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Nanny B, I am another one of those skinny devils they featured last night but the difference is I do not eat a lot of rubbish & crap almost never have, never liked it much (apart from one or 2 plain chocolate digestives). I realised I was different many many years ago at a friends engagement dinner, everyone else ordered grills & steaks etc I saw Dover sole on the menu & went for that because I can grill meat or cook steak easily but at that time (40 + years ago) Dover sole was a luxury, they all though I was odd. Although the two featured appeared to eat a lot they self regulated intake vs expenditure & it took me years to understand that I do the same, we do it without thinking we do not feel deprived or virtuous, its just how we are made. Drives my OH mad she only has to look at a biscuit life's not fair is it!
Pat E be assured there will be NO meat, I dont eat it. I have a lot of the nero kale ready in the garden, Hubby doesnt like Kale, but he wont notice it, "buried" in the pastry and other goodies. Suns come out here and sky is blue!
I’m waiting to see if I have any bad reactions to the mushrooms. I’m MSG intolerant and mushrooms are high in it. I did swallow a Telfast tablet after the meal, but I could hardly refuse to eat the pie after all the effort Hubby put into it. He cooked the barley separately in a small saucepan while he was chopping all the vegetables and making the pastry. I really enjoyed the pie though. We’ve got enough left overs for 4 meals for both of us. It’s in the freezer.
If im in agony with swollen joints in the morning, I’ll not be happy.
Liri - don't get blown away!! Hope your joints are OK Pat.
We like vegetarian food and eat a lot of veg anyway but also meat, poultry, fish tho I do find steak and beef in general very boring so rarely order it in restaurants and try to avoid cooking it except mince for bol sauce. OH and Poss can get their steak fix when we're out.
I have been out and potted up the nectarines and apricot and watered all the pots. Lots of pots. Probably time to start thinking about pulling up the cosmos and tidying up that new front bed and sticking in masses of bulbs. Patchwork homework first tho and dentist tomorrow morning so may not feel like playing out. OH is coming too and that will be something to behold! He hates dentists.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It was very windy here last night Liri so the west coast was getting it.

Afternoon all.
I've just had a visit ( he was passing ) from the planning inspector I spoke to on the phone recently.
How different people can be when " calls may be recorded for training purposes" doesn't apply.
A thoroughly nice chap who agreed with virtually everything I said. " you're preaching to the converted here " he said.
Rain has stopped play in the garden , but hopefully not for long.
Hope you get a successful outcome Hosta.
Does that mean he'll turn a blind eye to your "holiday" tenants Hosta? Hope so.
