NHS - Ambulance service and Hospital , have to say when I was Hospitalised in March for a week , first class service , only the accessment ward was noisy , in fact in main ward most beds where empty
Dont like raw minced steak either or blue steaks but everybody to there own
I'm lucky enough to have had very little experience of hospital stays, but when I gave birth to our first child 39 years ago, I had to stay a week in Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge, where the maternity wards had 24 beds in each. By the end of the week I was just about driven mad through lack of sleep... if my baby wasn't crying, someone else's was.
Can't fault the care though, on that occasion or any other when I've needed medical intervention. I too love the NHS.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I've only stayed in hospitals to have babies, too. My first, over 41 years ago was in Queen Mary's, Roehampton, where I had done part of my SRN training and a 3 month obstetric course. I was lucky and was given the biggest private room. I was in for a week too. I was going to train as a midwife at Addenbrooke's, but I met first OH at Queen Mary's so married him instead. He had broken his leg in a car crash on the A3 and I was working in men's orthopaedics.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The lovely pharmacist checked out our "old" tablets and decided they were fine. For the record, Hubby is going on holiday alone in November for 2 weeks, then coming home and in January we're both going.
Old tablets used up and all the paperwork is in order.
Half a win then Hosta. Just think of all the overtime you can do and playing in the tunnels while he's away. Fruit tree planting time too.......... Temptation!
I am being bitten to bits at night despite a mozzie and whatever thingy in the bedroom. 9 new ones last night on tender inner thighs and back and tum. Getting thru the lotion at an alarming rate as anti-histamine pills don't help. Might have to put up a net in the new bedroom altho OH seems immune.
Meanwhile, I have found a colourful array of ladybirds crawling into window frames, presumably to hibernate. Can't think why as it's still warm here but maybe there's no food now. Anyway, have to be careful as I have found 2 squished corpses plus a flattened shield bug when I opened windows to air the rooms with no external doors.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

So....let me get this straight....we all appear to have children ~ 40 years old.....my son is 41 this December and my daughter will be 39 in Feb ......Busy.....I love your "but I met first OH at Queen Mary's so married him instead " ......may I ask ....instead of what ?......I know ....it's just the VM in me

Hurrah for common sense.

Hosta, that's ok then.
Not quite. I was a late starter so Possum is only 22. As for Busy, instead of carrying on with nursing qualifications and career n'est-ce pas?
