Hosta her hands are quite good at the moment ... the Carpel Tunnel problem has been ok this week, but she does have some arthritis pain in her thumb and forefinger She sends love to all
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sorry to hear about your nocturnal disaster, BL. Are you recovering OK? And the damage?
Chicky, I expect you've already left, but hope you have a brilliant time in Birmingham. The 'secret garden' at the top of the library should be looking good, given that it's mainly grasses. Hope littlest chicklet is doing well. When do you depart for Oz?
Bit of a mixed week here - had a very efficient time juggling course revision, gardening and domestic stuff at the beginning of the week, then college on Wednesday, a funeral for much longer than expected yesterday (a sad time, his family have been through too much recently. But also, as is often the case with funerals, it was lovely to see and talk to people I haven't seen for years and years), and a totally inefficient day today - after taking the kids to the orthodontist this morning I just faffed about achieving very little for the rest of the day. Hate it when that happens. I did, however, measure and draw a scale plan of the front garden, which I've needed to do for ages. Preparation for a complete remodel. So not a complete wash out.
Hope everyone going away or on outings has a good time, and those staying at home get some good (ish?) weather. It was supposed to be lovely here but the forecast seems to have changed to 'mild but grotty'. Ho hum.

'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Hello all. We are in San Sebastián, Spanish Basque Country Having a short break. Weather is warm and sunny, pretty beaches. Place is bustling. Went on a boat trip then had lunch in a little fish restaurant by the harbour. Prawns, sardines and salad. OH bought me a lovely jumper with embroidered sleeves. Booked it some time ago before we knew pipe would burst and make a flood. As insurance won't do anything before it dries out we thought we'd go anyway.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hosta nothing surprises me anymore.....we just keep our noses clean and no one bothers us ...touch wood ... I was even surprised that they managed to film so much!
Dove good to hear Wonky is doing OK , I was with my son today and he has decided against the CT operation..... I hate the expression grin and bear it
now at my daughter's house in High Legh .....enjoying time with GD....we have been out walking ....it's like 20 degrees out there
Dacha, I think I can sum it up by saying Russia ( a country I've never visited ) seems a lot like India ( a country in which I've spent a lot of time )
Both wonderful countries with many wonderful people, but both seem to be ruled by, and indeed for , a tiny minority . Corruption and privilege go hand in hand with appalling human rights and great injustice to many.
I hope you don't think me too harsh.
I too was surprised they managed to film as much as they did.
I knew there was a reason I didn't like you Dacha....
At least the rain's gone off - been dry for a couple of hours now. Daughter has been helping me put the wardrobe doors on...FFS...
Worst bit of flat pack I've ever encountered. A Munro in the hellish weather today would have been preferable, and considering the high winds, heavy rain and bog all visibility there's been most of the day, that's saying summat. Typically, it's cleared up on the hills now too, judging by the webcams, but too late.
BL - you get about a bit! Glad you're having a nice break - you deserve it after all your hassles. Hope chicky's having fun too.
Dove - nice to hear Wonks is doing ok. Send her my love. After buying new winter gloves, of course I found the old ones earlier.....
If they would be any use to her, let me know. They're not as bulky as my new ones, and would be ideal for any outdoor grafting. They don't have the 'nose wipe' option though....but that's what sleeves are for
What are you planning for your front plot LG? I like a plan.....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello everyone. Lovely to read all your doings. I’m lazing in bed with my iPad. Hubby left early to go to an all-day training session at fire brigade headquarters, so I’m not planning very much. I can feel that it’s rather cool out, even though it’s sunny.
Sleep well all. Hope that big storm doesn’t upset any of you.
G'day Pat .... I'm on Russian clock so up early....don't want to wake anyone so tapping away in silent mode
Hosta , fully understand your comments.....sadly there are injustices in every country on our beautiful planet and I have witnessed many of them .I really do not know what I can add apart from the fact that the Russian people I know and have lived with for 27 years are good people.....what was that Sting song .....Russians love their children too!
Later ....off to have breakfast with my first wife and the wonderful mother of my two and only children .....who incidentally is a great friend of my Russian wife
