  • I'm none the wiser.....as a mathematician .....and I studied applied maths image......how did you guys choose 27......it's really a wonderful choice ......what's the male equivalent I wonder? image

Twenty-seven is a perfect cube, being 33 = 3 × 3 × 3. 27 is also 23 (see tetration). There are exactly 27 straight lines on a smooth cubic surface, which give a basis of the fundamental representation of the E6 Lie algebra. 27 is also a decagonal number.[1]In base 10, it is the first composite number not divisible by any of its digits. It is the radix (base) of the septemvigesimal positional numeral system.27 is the only positive integer that is 3 times the sum of its digits. In a prime reciprocal magic square of the multiples of 1/7, the magic constant is 27.In the Collatz conjecture (aka the "3n + 1 conjecture") a starting value of 27 requires 111 steps to reach 1, many more than any lower number. The unique simple formally real Jordan algebra, the exceptional Jordan algebra of self-adjoint 3 by 3 matrices of quaternions, is 27-dimensional.[2]In base 10, it is a Smith number[3] and a Harshad number.[4]It is the twenty-eighth (and twenty-ninth) digit i

Evening all (well, nearly bedtime actually...)

Busy day singing in York, then visiting village-near-York-based son & DIL.  Now slumped watching rubbish telly.

Dacha, why NOT 27??  Clearly, 25 would be ridiculously young, and 30, far too old...  image

Well Dacha, we know we're perfect but cubic?

I knew a chap who, in his 20s, said if he wasn't married by 30 he'd jump off Westminster bridge.  He wasn't, and didn't.   Not mature enough till his mid 30s.

Liri - bedtime here too now.   Hope you enjoyed the singing and your son and DIL.

    Morning all.

What a day . 8am start: 8.30pm finish. Came home , Hubby V Grumpy but he'd run me a bath so I had a bath and went to bed. That didn't go down well either I have to say.

Up now , having a cuppa and a catch up. Working from 2 this afternoon, but it shouldn't be a late one today.

Lots of wet, fallen leaves on the road yesterday. I even had a little bit of wheel spin on some of the steeper, secluded , country lanes.

WW, nice to "see" you, but you must take it easy.

    Devon.
