Beautiful picture of a charming fox - we loved seeing them on our U.K. holidays in the past.
We were pleased to see the swallows trying to build nests on the eaves of the house today - it is 15 - 20 years since they last tried to make nests here - so we are hoping they will be successful this year. On Spring Watch tonight they said that swallows were at least 30 days behind in their habits this year and may be too late to raise their young in time for migration.  If so, that is a disaster for these birds.

With a banded snail for company? Good luck to the swallows.

I haven't seen a painted lady around here in a long time so this was a nice surprise. It was sunning itself beside the pond after visiting the Erysimum Bowles Mauve.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Beautiful, wild edges...can't remember the last time I saw one.

I posted these in the Garden Gallery thread, but I think they will fit in here too.

So many Bees in the garden at the moment and all of them love the Ceanothus and Erysimum.

Also, I had a Ashy Mining Bee on the flowers this afternoon, but just missed out on the shot, first time I've seen one in the garden.

Lovely pic wild edges. I used to get them regularly round the corner in  a previous garden, but they're thin on the ground here. I did have a lovely time a year ago on a local hill one evening, watching painted ladies chase a red admiral on the summit - 2,600 feet above sea level  :)

I can believe that GD. The swallows where I work have several nests, but one of them is empty & unused this year   :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
