    Short-eared Owl, resting on a fence post in between hunts for voles.

    GD - that's stunning of the blackbirds. Really beautiful - just caught at exactly the  right moment  :)
    Dave and Bijd - equally stunning.
    wild edges - re the faces being sad. What we'd call - ' a face like a well skelped a**e'.
    That sparrow youngster I took a pic of the other day definitely had one of those  :D
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    A small frog spotted (almost stood on it) while on a educational visit to Kielder Forest this week.

    Not much very wild wildlife in a London suburb, but this Crab Spider on Erymsimum Bowles Mauve made our day.

    Fantastic shot, KOG...I would love to photograph one of these, the ones near me are of the small, brown type, so not as photogenic as this beauty.
