Cheers scroggin...she was a brute of a bird and the biggest female Peregrine I have seen, the male was small by comparison.

Such a stunning photo  B)  They nest nearby here and fly over the house now and then. No one seems to notice  :| The fastest animal in the world just cruised by and no one even looks up.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I had lots of tadpoles for the first time this spring in my little pond. This is one of the last fellas to toddle off. So beautiful. I put a grill over the pond so that assorted terrors would not eat the lot. I'm glad some survived. So far, at least.

  • Oh Sheps that is an amazing photo, we done for being in the right place at the right time.

Fab [as always ] Sheps. Stunning birds. :)
Isn't it sad w.edges? I keep saying - people just don't look up. I sat and watched the buzzards high overhead here yesterday. I wonder how many others saw them - or even heard them, looked up,  and wondered what they were.   :/
That's just glorious Fire. They're so tiny and perfect  :)
I'm very fortunate to see lots of wildlife when out on hills, but you don't always get the chance to get a pic. Around this time last year, this wee guy was on one of the Corbetts near Arrochar. They hunker down until you get too close, and are so well camouflaged, you can easily miss them  Very unusual in that area - must have lost his sat nav... ;)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Wow it really is and your photo shows it off really nicely in context.

Went out this evening to check the greenhouse watering system was running OK and heard the sound of bees, lots of bees. We have had lots of swarms over the years so was worried it might be another. The swarms are fascinating but my OH, OBEwan, reacts badly to stings and now carries an Epipen so I was hoping it wasn't a swarm this time. Thankfully it was just the Crinodendron Hookeri which are blooming at the moment and the bees go crazy for them.

There should be an embedded video here and if it works turn up the sound to hear the constant humming of hundreds of happy bees. It is all a bit Slow TV but it only lasts for a minute.
