What a little beauty Sheps. They're so stunning. We have them every year at work- nesting in the stables etc. One almost landed on my car today - he [or she] had some bits and pieces in his beak, and lost his footing on the drainpipe when he tried to land.  :o
The sparrows are quite plentiful here - I know they struggle in many places. I've got about three or four pairs I think. I've certainly seen two pairs,  plus several other males, all  in the garden together. They're eating some amount of food too!
I got some pix of the blue tits in the pond today, so I'll see what they're like. I ate my dinner in the late sun, about ten feet from the pond and feeder, sitting on a bag of compost, watching all their activity. It doesn't get much better than that  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

This is part of what makes gardening so worthwhile - a lovely day today and saw my first blue butterfly as well as these dragonfly skeletons and various birds feeding their young.

One from a couple of years ago. Somewhat surprisingly the box hasn't been used since  :(

One for the Dragon lovers out there, a Four-spotted Chaser resting on a fern.

Lovely pictures Sheps and Dave, the detail is so sharp.  It is so nice to look back at these pictures in the gloomy days of winter too.

Thanks Sheps. Not a patch on your fantastic pin-sharp pics but I was pleased to capture the moment.

Just saw this fledgling sitting in the acer tree. His parents were flapping around.
