Lovely to hear you talk about the Rhinos Dove.

I was very lucky to see this fairly rare sight of a Black Rhino and calf, whilst in S.A in 2013.

PS. Love that pottery, want it, give it to me!

Woke in the night to the sound none of us want to hear, water dripping through the ceiling. Need to find someone to look at it. Things up there are always complicated, because we have a stone roof and many of the stones are nearly 200 years old and secured by oak pegs.

At least we still have a roof, so trying to remind myself that we are lucky.

    See original post

Ooh err doc - how does that work - a stone roof ? Haven't heard of that...

Good luck LG - I started an OU course in garden design when I was in my mid forties - didn't manage to finish it due to personal circumstances beyond my control - but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would consider restarting it, if only to put it to bed and feel the sense of accomplishment. image

R'girl -  I was worried I sounded patronising in those comments, so I'm glad you found them supportive. I spoke from experience, as it was something a neighbour said to me that I've never forgotten  image

I s'pose I'm way too late to put my hand up for the plate too? .....image

    Lovely purchase Dove.

Shame about the strawbs Hosta. Can't you bung 'em in somewhere - even if it's only the birds that get the benefit? Great bulbs. I often pick up a few bits and pieces in that Home Bargains place. The lilies I got last spring for s*d all , all grew well and flowered.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
