Give your window sill a good clean with a light bleach and detergent solution just in case they're lurking.

    It's just a bit that I accidentally knocked off a trailing geranium😊. @Treeface

My mint plant has been decimated by our recent increase of mojito consumption.  12 leaves per glass x2 for my hubby and me.. two or three times a weekend. ;)   I've got it in a bottomless pot in the perennial edible bed.. so dividing is tricky and would involve more work than I care to put into it.  Cuttings in a jar of water are the perfect solution.

I tried using spearmint last night for the mojitos, as that pot is thriving, but it came across more 'toothpaste' than 'refreshing'.  I'll have to save that variety for the tea.

It's always worth trying accidental breakages. I stick them in water or in compost and then  I forget what they are!

  • Very yummy, B.  Just tasted one.  Still need to dry out properly but, even so, already rather tasty!
  • Yes, in a way, Treeface.  The bulbs were uncommonly fat, bought from my local greengrocer.  I was showing my granddaughter how her mummy and I used to grow hyacinths for Christmas, when she was a young child, and the result was what followed!

A big thank you to KeenonGreen who posted in May about echeverias. I've rooted leaf cuttings from Echeverias in the traditional way but would have never tried rooting them in water it seems illogical. Anyway I did try with one of mine which doesn't produce any offsets and WOW it worked thank you very much. On his/her behalf I will try some aeonium cuttings in water as an experiment.

They're always worth a try. It costs nothing. I couldn't believe that a gaura rooted overnight!
    Many fail, but some don't😊
