They do look amazing, Zoe!  What are you going to do with them now?

They've already been removed to the compost bin!  I didn't plan to grow them on.

Since childhood, I've been growing carrot tops, mustard and cress seed, mostly just for fun.  They are little miracles and they do look pretty!

When I was very young, I really disliked the taste of cress and mustard though I loved growing them; in fact, I'm still not overenamoured of the latter.

  • Argryanthemum

Rooted very quickly and easily from cuttings taken two weeks ago.

    This one was exciting!

Rose - it's been sat in water for at least 4 months. Amazing how long it lasted with no root. I have two others. One of those has been in water for even longer - since May still holding its leaves, no root yet though.

  • @Mr. Vine Eye -- or anyone else - please may I check when you leave cuttings in that long in water -- do you add anything to the water( rooting hormone / drop of bleach or whatever to sanitise?) and do you regularly change the water ? And do they need to be in a light windowsill or light not needed till root system established?

I, personally, put enough water to just cover the bottom of the receptacle used to about a cm, leave on a south facing windowsill when doing so from autumn to mid-spring but not in direct sunlight in late spring or summer and simply top up the water as necessary.

I never fret; if they grow roots, I fly the flag, if they don't, I try again!

  • Thanks very much @Helen P3
