Evening all. Only have WiFi down in the little lounge at the hotel - not working in the bedroom. No phone signal either, so I thought i'd email the girls to let them know I'm still alive!

The rain was constant on the way up - apart from the outskirts of Perth and a bit of the A9 after that. Seven shades  of sh**e  otherwise. It's gone off now so I'll have a look at the weather for tomorrow, but it's not looking brilliant for a hill. Struggled to see any of the iconic ones in this neck of the woods as I drove up - the clag was right down. Hey ho - that's the north west highlands for you  image

Have you 'put something' on it Hosta? That's always a plan. I'm sure you've been a brave little soldier. Wonder what it was...piranha?  image

Am I right in saying Polka is a good rasp? I'm sure several folk here had them - easy to grow etc.

Venison casserole for tea (have to wait here a while for it)  then a look at round outside before an early night methinks. Better go and message the girls and check the weather while I can.

I'll wish everyone a good weekend in case I don't get another chance, and I'll catch up with you all on Sunday or Monday. Look after yourselves  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Liri - we love Polka raspberries - very tasty and need no support.  Not sure about well behaved - they certainly sucker, but we have them in their own bed, surrounded by grass, so we just mow the suckers down

Just re-read that - sounds like I've gone all Gangsta image

Just signed the petition to protest against them demolishing part of Wisley to widen the A3 image

Not sure what our raspberries are, they had fruit early on, and some have fruit now, so not sure when to prune, I said to OH maybe prune half see what happens.  He saw Urologist, what a lovelly bloke (very Posh of course) but down to earth swearing telling saucy jokes, Hubby is already on operation list for "stone" removal.  Flaming annoying Dove, we moved (here) very quickly, sat outside while "completion" happened and money changed hands, my old neighbour, her money never changed hands, so they didnt move on their completion day, in the end her Mother coughed up the money and they moved. Lovelly day weather wise, 12d when I got up at 7, says 10d tomorrow. Luna had her op, no walking apart from short walks on lead for 14 days, so much the same as me, well, they do say dogs get to look like their owners (or is it the other way round!)

Thank you very much for the raspberry suggestions, lovely people.  image

I think I might see if my daughter can get Polka.  They will be next to a block paving path, with lawn on the other side; hopefully they won't sucker between the paving blocks... and if they come up in the lawn, as you say, Chicky, they'll get mown off.

The bench is progressing - we need to paint the filled and sanded seat back tomorrow, and paint the metal ends with rust-converting paint (in tasteful British racing green).  However, in the morning we will be showing 3 lots of potential new tenants round our little rental house, so painting will have to wait until later in the day.

Hope the rain stops for you, Fairy.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I'm sure Dove has Polka too Liri.Hope you get a nice new tenant   image

Lovely sunset and the heilan' coos are outside the window by the loch. I'd go out and take a photo of the pink sky, but I'm in my jim jams...image

Might carry on round the 'loop' to Lochinver tomorrow and visit the Old Man of Stoer on the way if the weather is suitable. Very different for me! This is part of the North Coast 500  (the coastal drive round the top of Scotland) which is becoming very popular. I've fancied doing it for a while, so I might look at doing it next year, depending on circumstances.

I heard about the Wisley thing on the radio earlier, so I'll take a look at that.

Might even watch G's World just now.

Night all - catch up tomorrow image

Hi everyone. I've just read back the several pages that I missed yesterday And have promptly forgotten most of it.

I did pick up that Chicky is coming "over here" in November. It really would be lovely to meet face to face but Adelaide is a long way away so I don't expect she'll get over this way.

I gather that Fairy is having a wee break up north. Sounds interesting.

Dove, sorry to hear about your son's housing probs, especially when you'd helped clear everything out for him.

interesting about the Blandford Bug. I don't think it's found its way to Australia, thank goodness.

i can't remember what else was mentioned.

Dove, I've just checked the weather . It must know you guys are coming as it's bucked its ideas up for once.

If I get my new drive belt, I might even get the grass cut before you arrive.

I've no idea what's in that lake, but my hands are covered in itchy bites/ stings
