Afternoon Yvie.  Hope you're feeling a bit more upbeat now...  image

I lost the forum for a bit too, Dove.  Did some seat sanding instead of nattering on here, which was probably a good thing...

Meant to say - hope your inversion lives up to your expectations, Fairy.  image

It's looking promising Liri - just hope it's not a case of a fog bound glen image followed by a fog bound hill image

Supposed to clear by 9 ish, so hopefully I can get above it. Those 'marshmallow' moments are always splendid. image

I lost everyone too, but I had paperwork to keep me busy. image

I've just ordered a new fridge freezer, and I forgot I'd  paid for my weekend away, so with the car as well, this month's outgoings are going to be slightly higher than usual! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Afternoon all.

Just collected Hubby from the shop so I'm stopping for a well earned cuppa and a bit of carrot cake.

    Afternoon all.

Ever think you are having one of those days where you just seem to attract the more quirky areas of society?

Clari, work in a supermarket in Devon, that's all we ever seem to get at holiday times.

Hello everyone.   Change of plans today.  We went to Clisson instead of La Rochelle.   It's a beautiful village on the Sèvre Nantaise with an old castle high up on a rock.  Mostly destroyed in the Vendée wars along with the town which was rebuilt in Italian style in the 19th C.  Didn't look particularly Italian to me except for a couple of churchy things but it is beautiful with gorgeous stone bridges, narrow streets, an old wooden beamed Halles and the river.

Sunny dry and pleasantly warm all day and we had a very good lunch on the riverside so just snacks tonight - those smoked prawns.

Liri - is that view across to Darwen folly or are there more round there?   Beautiful anyway.

I'd have thought Devon, like the Lake District, should be avoided if at all possible in July and August unless you like queues for the hills and queues for the coast and queues for pretty villages.......

Sporty bits - used to play netball, tennis, swim, throw javelin, putt the shot and do 400m hurdles and cross country.  Skiing and horse-riding in my 30s.  Dancing and skiing in late 40s and 50s.   Just dancing and dog walking now.   Decrepit knees  and hips and that bloody toe and dodgy vertebrae too so no more skiing or riding.

Dacha - yes, if you want to see into or out of your pergola thingy again your do need to cut it back but it could be done judiciously to leave some on the uprights.

FG - hope you get your inversion.

Have a good evening and a great weekend everyone, especially if you have plans.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

obelixx, I lost my sense of humour for a time when he tried to kill me (insured me for a hundred grand ) he had lost his business, house  re-morg=taged up to the hilt, he did a "Reggie perrin" pretended to go to work, my boss sacked me the day after he was arrested, said they couldnt have me working in their fine respectable family firm when it hit the papers, so lost my job, Husband (THAT was the good news) house and furniture repossessed, started anew, new bloke, new baby, new house.  Well, it didnt kill me (obviously!!) so it must have made me bloody strong.  Over the years several patients have confided in me they are married to a gay bloke, and dont want their familiy to know or the kids to find out, you be surprised.  I rang the Terrence Higgins Trust early on for advice, they were really nasty said gay men dont marry women!
