Oooh, we're all going to be in the West Country at the beginning of Septemberimage ... watch out, don't want to  tip the country into the sea ............. mind you, it might help out with the coastal erosion here in Norfolk image

Fritillary, they don't call Okehampton " Soakhampton" for nothing.image

I think all the clouds roll in from the Atlantic, then hit Dartmoor and just dump it on Okey. The local river burst its bank a couple of weeks ago. In the 6 years I've lived here, I've never heard THAT before.

I'd still not live anywhere else.

    Devon.

Lyn, you exercise all the time in your garden.

Dacha, did you mean Chamonix? The first time I went skiing I thought I would be good at it, as I rode horses I thought my balance would be good, but I hadn't reckoned on the sheer terror of heights! I was useless, trying to cling on to the mountain with my bottom image

Feel sorry for all those on hols in the Dordogne, another grey cool day with the odd shower.

I hope it warms up, we are going to see an outdoor performance of Richard III this evening. Restaurant first, would have been nice to eat outside.

I hope the Norfolk weather is OK the middle two weeks of September. Dove, will you be in Norfolk the third week?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Hosta it will be just nice to get away. Hopefully a visit to Rosemoor one day. Also Holsworthy for cattle market and  Mole Valley Farmers. Trip to Bude . And  also a trip to Hatherleigh market (bought some plants there on our last visit). Will also just go out for walks as there are plenty of woods surrounding us.image

I love MVF. The only shop where you buy cheese and wine and sheep castraters  and a wheely bin full of rat poison.

Rosemoor is always worth a visit

DL did I meet you in Greece in 1980? I heard a very similar story from a guy who was trying to impress a girlie!! Twit! (I know it wasn't you because he was English!). image

Thankfully I've never broken anything but I did wreck the elastics in both knees. I also broke a back tooth and all I was doing was walking on an icy road!!! I went right down on my chin and crashed my teeth together. I had a bump on my head like an egg...I watched it growing!!!! image

BL you're standing on the ground...how can that be a height? (unless you are outrageously tall...)

No, PP, I'm short but try standing on a steep slope on the side of a mountain covered in icy snow and looking down on people in the village below who look like ants image

I hope we can meet up then, Dove. image
