I'm in the "more veggies please" camp. Love them all.
Great view, PP! Our obelisk/monument is a local landmark, adding to what would otherwise be a fairly boring hill.
OH needs an early lunch cos he's off to a cricket match (watching, bit too old & stiff to play these days) - so I'd better start assembling the fish pie. With sugar peas from the garden, I think.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Love lots of veggies here and have some excellent recipes and favourite vegetarian dishes too but the mouth watering smells of bacon, pork chops and roast belly pork would all get me off the veggie wagon very quickly.
Off to a brocante this morning in the nearest we town - smaller than the village we came from but more going on - and it's cool and grey and a bit breezy. Poor sun seeking holiday makers.
Hosta - I take a daily Boots no sleep anti-histamine and wear anti fly spray when I go out in the potager end of the garden. Horse and cow flies a-plenty down there and in our old garden. No more tennis ball size lumps after bites tho.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Sprout soup! That's bauf!!!! You're a very sick woman Dove.
Liri ours is at a great spot on Belfast lough so if there's ever occasion for fireworks or a beacon or bonfire that's where it goes. We can see the Mournes from there on a clear day.
We used to take our bikes up there when we were children ( I won't say cycle it's a bit steep) and the run home was "exhilerating" to say the least. That's how my friend lost her two front teeth when she was 10!!!!!
I knew someone like that Clari. He came to stay for a month after starting a new hob with us and waiting for his new flat purchase to come thru. Liked meat and two veg which had to be peas or carrots and potatoes. I fed him shepherd's pie one day and he had seconds - entirely vegetarian so clearly he had been spoiled by his mum and had no taste buds either.

Morning all. Richard III last night was really good. www.anticdisposition.co.uk/tour/about-the-tour.html I was glad I took my winter coat, no rain but it was chilly. We ate in a village restaurant first and met another English couple, very nice, sitting at the table next to us. An English woman and a French man ran the restaurant, very lively and friendly. We had fish and chips which they do every Friday. I rarely eat it as I find batter and chips too much, but it was very good and I had a salad as well. The village was pretty and had a huge Abbey church. Saint Avit Senieur. The play was on the raised grass bit along the side of the Abbey in above photo. Still can't get photos to go under the print.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Brussels soup .....nooooo , love them with bacon as well Clari
PP , my first trip to Belfast ....like so many other 14 year old Dublin boys .....was to the Forces recruitment offices....we would fill in a little tear out token in a Hotspur or Eagle and send it off.....after a few weeks you would get a travel ticket and a postal order .....and off we went for a great little adventure on the train, parents hadn't got a clue ......that's how my brother ended up in the RAF for 25 years....
The last time was later in the 60s......not the best of times ......must go back some time ......one of my best friends here is from there and fronts a Russian rock band

Agree about sprout soup or anything with sprouts!
I never liked sprouts until I discovered sprouts caramelized with bacon.
Bacon makes it all so much better.
I really enjoy veg; but his lordship breaks a sweat if he thinks a meal doesn't involve meat.
