    Morning everyone.

Off work this week so patiently waiting for the fine weather to make an appearance (ETA 4pm?).

Just reading about the solar eclipse which can be seen in parts of the U.S. today.:

    GGRRRR

Having negotiated a discount of £124 from the AA , I found ,this morning, that they've debited the original amount from my account.

    Refund on the way.

I'm off to strip the sweetcorn and get them in the freezer.

Dare I say , it's almost "warm" outside??

I find blinds a right pain to put up. They should be simple, but the reality is, they never are. I never eff and blind though....image

    yeh right...image

I've done so much DIYing, decorating and building work etc in houses over the years, that I just can't get excited about it any more. I normally spend too long making decisions, so I've now found that's it's better to just dive in recklessly and make spur of the moment choices - I've done that with the new extension and I can't say it's been a problem. It's also less stressful!

The garden of course, is another matter...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Hosta, that's disgusting that they reckon your results were normal. They should be investigating further.

Lilyp, I hope your eye problem is sorted.

we are watching various cooking shows. They should be banned. I'm craving all sorts of naughty foods. First British Bakeoff, then Michael Roux Hidden Restaurants, and now Master Chef. John and Greg are outdoing themselves as usual.

Obelixx, our visitor hasn't contacted us at all. Amazing. Just as well though. Neither of is in the mood to chat with her.

its getting late, so we might call it a day after this - although, the Cycle Race in Spain is on at 11 pm. I can see the recorder going on. image

Did "spur" painting last August and that worked well but no we are now waiting for a tiler to do the floor in the annex and a whole cluster of messy people to build our shower room extension and bash a hole in a wall to get to it.   Everything else is on hold pending the end of those messes.   Meanwhile, projects in the garden are on hold awaiting an end to the drought.

You can just imagine how much is spinning round in my head!   When we do get the new shower and change bedrooms Possum wants to move into our current bedroom which then has to become blue.  Our new room is currently a limey olive green and fierce turquoise so needs a complete overhaul.  The living and dining rooms need painting and curtaining for cosiness, not warmth.   Never doing blinds again!  The hall and landing need finishing and 3 bedrooms need things like skirting boards and door frame surrounds.   Endless ideas and colour schemes going round and round.   OH is now pondering a colour for our gates which he's been sanding to clear rust.   Doesn't "see" the indoors stuff so is not bothered.

Sorry you're no further forward Hosta.  Glad you're feeling better NB.  LP - hope the eye visit has gone well.   Liri - I have simple tastes in cheese but have been training OH to try new ones here and make sure they're raw milk if poss.  He's having fun.  We have a cheese bell and a dedicated tupperware for his self propelled cheeses.  I have to leave the room when he gets them out.

    Hello all.

    Fingers crossed for Lily P.

Been shopping for meat for Gardening Club BBQ tomorrow evening. Latest count - 38 coming. Must do the marinades and make a cake for the cake competition. Tomorrow I'll do a flower arrangement for the flower arrangement competition.

Need to keep motivated, Dacha! Or I'd sit in front of the TV all day.
