    Hello all!

    Fingers crossed, Dove!

Sounds like a lovely break, Punkdoc.  Not an area of Scotland I know, to my shame...  I'm coming to the conclusion that life's now too short to visit all the places on my bucket list.  image

Glad you enjoyed your boring hill, Fairy.  Getting out and walking off the blues (if you have any) is just great.  image

Hosta, as Fidget said, the rules applied to athletes banned for doping were bent because of extreme pressure on the governing body from the US.  So you could justifiably argue that according to the rules, he shouldn't have been allowed to compete - hence the booing.

Doors... sat next to the cafe exit door - only seats available - last week in the National Park in Donegal.  Nice salad spoiled by having to get up at regular intervals to SHUT THE DOOR.  Some folk have no consideration...

AWOL yesterday in York at the Finnish-singing choir again.  There's quite a "buzz" following our Buxton Fringe appearances; we discovered (while on holiday) that the choir had won the Vocal Performance Award at the Fringe, which was lovely, but a surprise since we didn't know there was such an award... apparently there were secret judges!

It's stopped raining.  Better go and buy some spuds for lunch.  image

    As I said

"Neither knowing, not caring anything about sport, maybe I've got it totally wrong."

    Clearly that is the case.

A friend has family coming from Lithuania and might well be interested in the annexe for a while.

The Agent called this morning to say they've released the deposit back to the tenants and they're paying the rent for August today and leaving the £150 for re-decorating.image

Sorry Hosta, didn't mean to criticise...  image  ...those who've followed this story for a while are somewhat p'd off by the way different athletes are treated differently for the same offence.

Good news about the tenants.  Hope Hubby is pleased with decorating progress.  image

    Liri, not at all. image

    I repeat

"I agree with a lifetime ban for all doping cheats in every sport,"

I think some, SOME, not all, in sport live in a bubble. Fooballers being traded for £200 million!!!!

I'd love an investigation into the tax affairs of premiership football clubs , and their players, especailly "non-dom" status.

Greetings everyone.  Busy morning so far as Monday is cleaning day with all hands on deck.   Just need to steam clean the floors now and we're done.   Dentist this pm.  Not my favourite pastime but needs must.

Doctor tomorrow.  Haven't seen one of those for several years either.  Not since i got my new feet but I think it's time for the equivalent of a 13,000km service.

Hosta - I hope the agents got the rent before they paid back the deposit!   £150 would just about cover the cost of 3 tins of paint in France and Belgium.   We did a cross Channel raid to Canterbury when we needed a load to smarten up the Belgian house for sale. .

Doors - this house has them downstairs so we can shut the dogs in the kitchen and dining room at night instead of putting them in their cages.   All doors except the loo and most windows open all day to allow free movement of critters and air except when it's cold or windy.  The Belgian house had no doors between the living room, hall and kitchen so we're used to having free movement.

Sport cheats - definitely a lifetime ban and more rigorous testing systems and the same for checking the powers behind - promoters, managers, agents, sports bodies.  Just look at FIFA and then tell yourselves they're the only ones fiddling the books and odds.   Yeah, right.

Congrats to Liri and OH and the choir.  Well done.

Hope it's a good start to the week for everyone.

Morning all, Lovely and sunny but I'm sure that will change.  Not sleeping well at the moment, worrying over Firstborn I suspect, also causing IBS to play up quite a lot.  Have a couple of plants to get in the garden today and a bit of deadheading but not sure what else I'll be up to.

Don't care much about sport but can't abide cheats, just can't understand how their medals can mean anything if they didn't win them honestly.

    Have a good Monday everyone.

Was really tired nodding off in the chair by 8, atempted to watch Beechgrove 3 times before giving in and going to bed! Told my Hubby i was going to name and shame him on here, regarding the doors! His name is peter, is their a correct name for a person with a phobia for doors (and bins, buts thats another story!)he never closes a door on a cupboard or a drawer when he opens it, it drives me mad, we actually have a lot of "soft close" doors, but you have to push them a bit of the way.

    Hello.

I like doors too, then there's a choice of shut or open. We often shut outside doors and windows in the summer to keep the heat out, bedroom shutters too. Open them at night.

The families have all gone out, older ones are canoeing and families with littlies are going to a swimming beach by a river. They are all lunching out too. Peace! I have been doing housework and washing, machine is on 3rd load. Will make a Pavlova and a loaf of bread. Storms are forecast this evening, hope the washing is dry by then.

No time to watch sport but had to watch the last Poldark of the series last night.

Know how you feel, Yvie, I have IBS too, really awkward when travelling sometimes.
