Looks to me like Dacha needs a good pair of Felco's for his next Xmas or birthday present.

I think it's Boston Ivy which is like Virginia Creeper but with palmate leaves goes red in Autumn, not as vigorous as V C. Lots of houses here are covered in it.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Afternoon all,  Feeling very tired today after a couple of days heavy gardening at home and at Secondborns.  Been out and about with friend all day today visiting 3 garden centres.  Bought a Helenium Short n Sassy and Echinacea Sunseeker Red which isn't red at all, more of a dark pink.

Have a few spaces to fill in the borders now as yesterday I removed an Acanthus, a day lily and also cut back a rampant salvia. Haven't the energy to plant them today they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I wondered that too but decided Virginia is a more girly name than Boston.

Have just finished my frock and am very pleased.  Off to sow a few broad beans now.  In loo rolls as the ground is too dry.

Yvie - "Short and Sassy" the name of the helenium I bought at the Old Vicarage. I'd forgotten it's name.

Evening all. Back a little while ago, and got away with not getting rained on - hurrah! Made up for it on the road home though  image

The dullest hill in the universe, but good to get out, and timed to perfection  with Johnnie Walker on the radio going home - complete with Alice Cooper as a guest. The red squirrel with a white end to his tail in the little woodland on the way back made up for the walk too . Didn't get a photo unfortunately. Managed to avoid running one over on the way up there  - he was crossing the road and I was worried he'd turn round and go under the wheels - but he crossed safely  image

Hosta - Pergola looks lovely. Congrats on 'both fronts' too. Especially the 'no bevvy'. Good lad image

I'm not surprised at the price of farm animals, and when you think about it, a good ram, or bull is worth every penny for breeding purposes. So many of them are worth very little, and they all cost the same to keep.  Gorgeous little things though aren't they? image

Loved your rasta haired sheep  too Dove. I'm very fond of a sheep - couldn't eat a whole one.... Genuinely...I loathe lamb  image

Hope you had the chance to sit down and relax for a while BL! You too Yvie image

Better get a shower and make something to eat.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

     Evening all.

    Glad to be home .

I had a bit of a moan to my Section Manager about some drivers seeming to be driving every shift, and some others ( me included ) being left in store. I've got it off my chest, whether anything will change is another thing entirely .

    Devon.
