I saw a bit of the programme before being interrupted by a phone call. . . . found it a bit irritating but will watch the rest of it tomorrow.

A friend phoned yesterday to tell me her husband had passed away at breakfast time ....he had just had a cup of tea and hadn't been ill recently.

The electricity company turned up this morning to trim any trees that potentially could fall on the power lines.

They moved to three different locations and did bits of cutting. Looks like Hubby will have a bit of cutting of branches and cleaning up small stuff when he is physically up to it. He's been threatened by me if he picks up a chain saw.image

Really sorry to hear about your friends husband Joyce. I hope it was as peaceful as our imaginations make it out to be.

Morning everyone! Evening Pat; tell your husband the trees won't be going anywhere!

Morning all/afties Pat - that requires a bitmore than a pair of loppers!

Doc - is a diehard Forker LP  image

I could never cope with two threads either - and I've always been on this one  image

I didn't watch that prog although I'd seen trailers. Can't abide Miss Hart either. I assumed her mother was related to Tom Hart Dyke in some way though, given  that it's not a common name.  Is he her nephew then?

Sad news for you Joyce. Hope all is ok with you though x

Off to take daughter for a shift at work in a moment or three. Can't she get shifts that start at 12 ? image

  • Good Morning All image Long lost DD here. image

It's just a quick pop in I'm afraid, just to let you know I'm alive and kicking. The tearoom is going really well, getting lots of regulars now, mainly French too which is a big but welcome surprise. The B&B has been full every night since the day I opened it, last night was the first free night, hence the opportunity to say hello. image

We've not stopped and now thankfully we are getting straight, I've moved in properly and can now find my clothes when I get up in the morning, the garage and basement are clear of all the rubbish and everything has a 'home'. And, yesterday my television was finally connected! Charlie also has his computer linked up although he's spent the summer doing sleepovers at all his friend's and is off camping on a horse riding week-end on Friday. image

I have a great team here, we are working brilliantly together and one last thing before I go (we open at 8:30) a TV crew spent the day here on Thursday, filming the 'English Abroad'. It's going out one night this week on a news channel, I'll add the link when I get it (if it is not too embarrassing).

I must go, I miss you all and the chatter, I'll be back soon, best wishes to everyone, hope you are all well. xxximageimage Have one of my latest creations. image

Absolutely terrific DD. You thoroughly deserve your success  image

Glad you had a chance to pop in, but the fact you haven't been able to do it very often is testament to how well you're doing.

Cakes look fab too - any left for  a little fairy?   image image

Morning everyone. A quiet day again today, not that I'm complaining.

    Morning all.
What a shock for your friend, Joyce, hope she's OK.

Great that it's going so well DD. I almost came for the TV day but I was busy and it's not next door! OH was away.

Bother about the garden prog. I'd noted it down but last night was warm and OH wanted to linger over dinner under the terrace pergola so I forgot it.

38 gardening club to my BBQ tonight. Secretary told me it would be about 20 when they asked me to host it. She must have forgotten the husbands and wives!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
