I do too, ( she thinks waaaaaaaaaaaay too highly of herself, and doesn't have a very good voice), but I have to say, Papa don't preach, like a prayer, and vogue are among my fave songs of all time.
There was a lot of 'Madonna adoration' amongst some of the youngsters when I was at art school in the early 90s ........... then I introduced them to Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin.......'nuff said

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Liri - we were advised to borrow a steam mop when moving into the last house. I don't think cleaning was high on the list of priorities. I lost about half a stone in the first week - scrubbing and scouring
Toy Story on here Dove - 'to infinity - and beyond'. One of the all time great quotes, along with 'that isn't flying, it's falling with style' !
Youngest watched Bug's Life with me last week. I frequently say 'I'm asking you with my brain'.
It's interesting re music. Younger people (God I sound old saying that) aren't really interested in older music , or where the current music trends originate. I keep saying - 'but you wouldn't have Tom Odell/Ed Sheeran et al if it hadn't been for Dylan...etc etc. At least our generation understood, and were interested in, how the music we grew up with originated, and how differences in all sorts of things - social and creative - all help to mould each 'new' sound, or wave of music. I generalise of course, but you get the picture.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
With you on Madonna. Very limited vocal range too but knows how to pick a song. 4 Minutes is my favourite but mostly because Possum and the girls did an amazing RnB dance routine to it - after only one hour of class to prepare a demo. Vogue was another routine they did during that year. I do not have fond memories of Thriller or Pirates of the Caribbean which was done when she was in a younger class and I had to listen to them over and over every week for a whole 30 week season of classes.........
Baking going well - banana and blueberry muffins for Possum's breakfasts are done and smell very tempting. Courgette and goat's cheese muffins in now and then the pastilla will follow and while that bakes I shall make Korean bulgogi stir fried beef for dinner.
I have been watching Paradise Gardens while sewing. Includes a very young Adam helping with the planting and Cleve West on water features. Visionary chap our Mr Hamilton. GW on in background while I bake. Hmmmmm.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I have a steam cleaner but it's not that easy to use and not really efficient. But I have a Bissell carpet shampooer and it's brilliant, bit heavy though. Bought it secondhand from a lady who was moving house. It squirts the shampoo into the carpet, brushes it and sucks up all the dirty liquid.
Just watched GW, I actually forgot it was on last night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Just got in from a walk - beautiful Hampshire countryside, and up a hill so we could see the solent
The lady with sight problems on GW last night is a member of the Garden Group I go to .....don't know her very well, but her Mum is lovely ?. It took 12 hours with Carol Klein to make the little snippet we saw . Mr C was a big fan of the Corten terracing too.
Not much on the box this evening (seen Lady in the Van before - very good ) so think it willbe an evening of cricket (if the rain holds off) and gardening mags. The next day/night cricket match for England will be in Adelaide .....and we've got tickets

I discovered Arianna Grande when she did that record "Faith" with Stevie Wonder ... loved it
I find Madonna intensely irritating.

I have a carpet shampooer too BL. I used it in that last house - the steamer had no effect on the stained carpets.
I loved Vogue too Hosta, but where Madonna was very clever was in reinventing herself constantly. Like Bowie - but without the innate talent
Got to hand it to her though - the marketing was top notch!

I've just been chatting to " the bee lady"
Much tittering about " finding Queens" " Virgin , unmated Queens" etc.
She was talking to another apiarist who has been keeping bees around here for 40 years and he says he's never known a summer this bad.
