I believe this is Roesel's Bush Cricket - Metrioptera roeseli. Was hopping around and was kind enough to stay still just long enough to grab on my phone.
Yes, it is - these are easy to ID by the sound (older people may not be able to hear it) - continuous buzzing like the crackle from overhead power lines, especially when it's hot & sunny.
An interesting moth, Sheps and a good photo as usual. The watermark is quite unobtrusive, I had not even noticed before you mentioned it in the text of your post!
The peacock butterflies love my asters and I suspect they even sleep there at night. At the moment the nights are fairly cold, so it takes the little critters some time to warm up in the morning. Easy to take pics then, and even to invite them one one's fingers.
There's some fascinating creatures here but, where have all the earwigs gone? They used to be common in my garden but I haven't seen one for some years now. I wonder if their disappearance is just a local phenomenon (around London) and elsewhere in the country they are still making a meal of somebody's dahlias.
Beautiful Peacock, Papi...the colours are gorgeous and that underwing has an almost Bark like appearance.
Hi jffrylg, if I'm honest, I can't remember seeing an earwig in my garden for quite some years, when I was a kid there were always loads gathered under those old, orange street lights, not sure why though.
Here is a Common Blue Damselfly, photographed many moons ago when I first started out taking pictures of wildlife.

One from the garden today, Angle Shades Moth at rest.
Please excuse the Watermark, it's only there because the same image will be published on a different website.
Also, it's best viewed large as image compression on this site kills most of the detail.
Sheps...

I think they are all in my garden, jffrylg

I think that's Azure Damselfly, definitely not Common Blue.
I bow to your greater knowledge, Ono
