You've all been very chatty while I've been out. The rain just kept coming so I went to fill up the car and get stuff at the orange DIY shop. I also went to the nursery.....
There was a nice deep orange/red crocosmia that leapt out at me. Well, it was called Twilight Fairy Crimson....Not as 'in your face' scarlet as Lucifer, but not as wishy washy as some of the orange ones. I also got a Helenium and a dwarf geranium (whose name I've instantly forgotten) - similar to Anne Folkard in colour. The hot border certainly isn't shy and retiring
Huge thundery downpours coming home, so I'm glad I didn't believe the forecast and put any washing out. Still raining now.
A computer at school you say Hosta? Men in white coats? Blimey - our school had only just discovered television - which was wheeled from room to room by men in brown coats! That's private girls' schools for you!
What are these 'hoovers' of which you speak?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I remember out Nintendo 64. My grandmother (prim and proper and generally not into gadgets etc.) watched us playing the duck shooting game then took the plastic gun and without ever touching it before ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. As in top score not a duck survived.
Wonky's big brother wanted a computer ... he was/is four years older than her ... I knew that she'd never be allowed to use his ... and as I'd had a brother who had a Scalextric set for Christmas when I had a dolls house and I wasn't allowed to play with his 'cos I used to beat him, even tho' he had no one else to play with ... ............ so even tho' Wonky was a bit young for a pooter then, we bought two identical ones ... no wonder we were skint that Christmas
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Ha! I wanted Meccano and a train set and kept getting bloody dolls. Never played with them but wasn't allowed anywhere near brother's Meccano either so I spent my pocket money on making Airfix villages and buying Matchbox cars for the roads.. Never did get Scalextric and don't get Formula 1 or any other car racing now.
Kitchen duties call. Fragrant fish tagine........ and a glass of wine for the cook while t'other pair do walkies.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Evening all, Thanks for all good wishes, have avoided housework today and taken myself off to the garden centre with my friend for tea and cake. Only bought a small polycodon but friend spent quite a bit.
Glad you got things sorted P'doc, mountain rescue sounds like a good idea to me.
And more importantly, THE TUMBLE DRIER HAS GONE WITH THEM.
Hubby popped in to have a quick look, and her Dad,( " Painter and decorator" it says on his van )has touched up the gouges on the wall ( like that'll hide them ) . Not only is it not the same colour, he's used "silk" on " soft sheen" . Ah well, that's their deposit gone.

Computer games ... not since Wonky and her brother had their first ZX Spectrums? when they were very young, and I got the hang of playing Fire Ants
