Nanny Beach, I'm worse than you , I don't play any sport and certainly can see no point whatsoever in watching anyone else doing it. I'm the world's least competitive person. I really don't care who wins , which might have something to do with it.
Phone call from letting agent. The tenants want permission to get a puppy. NOT A HOPE IN H*LL was my answer. Apart from anything else, they both work full time and the poor wee thing would be stuck indoors on its own . I don't like pets, but that's just plain cruel to leave it alone all day.
I've had the lovely tree surgeon round to look at removing a load of trees. Need to run that one past Hubby when I speak to him tonight.
Just popping in to say I'm still on the sofa in front of the tennis. Lots of knitting getting done ... a dear friend died yesterday ... a genius and one of the kindest people I've ever met ... I shall miss him.
well done Pdoc I'm sure they'd call you in if your bloods were too alarming.
Hosta, oh dear ... they're playing at being a family ... some growing up needs to be done
Thinking of Joyce ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The GC was disappointing, I bought a couple of delphiniums and a pair of gardening gloves. At least the loo, for once, wasn't out of order. I'd wanted a nice indoor plant for the friend we are going to lunch with on Wednesday but I didn't like anything in my budget. Ended up getting one in the SM which had a much better choice.
Spent over 5 hours gardening this afternoon. Think I'm winning with the bindweed!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Long but good drive up here to Namur where it is 24C and a bit muggy. Slight detour to go home again and fetch my frock and jacket for the funeral - got ushered out so fast this am I left them hanging on the bedroom door! Doh! Nasty accident the other way just north of Alençon. Car on roof in outside lane. Not a good way to start a working week or holiday.
Got to Namur to find myself deviated (French thinks a diversion is an entertainment or amusement) up and round and back down the citadel to get past some roadworks. Lovely drive up through a wooded hillside with slanting evening sun on still fresh green foliage and then switchbacking down the other side with views up or down the Meuse valley and over the city depending on which way I was switching. It's a comfortable, pleasant town with some lovely views and quirky bits but dreadful winters.
Well done Malta. Shame about NI. Not surprised by th enucleat thing except that it got the go ahead in the first place. Much cheaper to give everyone a reliable, EU made solar panel for their roof!
Don't see the point of cars like that. I've brought a single mattress up in ours today plus my bags and a car fridge and still lad space. Plenty of speed for the limits too.
Hugs to Joyce and family.
Have a good evening all.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

doc- sounds like you've put the sh**s up the 'colleague' then. Well done!
Ho[e you can get to see the doc soon. Two weeks is a terrible length of time, but it seems to be the norm in a lot of areas.
Hosta - some folk don't have any common sense do they? Or perhaps they think you'll help out....
Is your open day coming up soon BL? I may have missed you saying. I'm sure the garden will be beautiful as usual. If the visitors have any sense, they'll see how much work goes into it. Your photos are always lovely - I don't know how you manage it as you're always on the go
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A friend sent me this little poem which I thought others would like to read.
- Hello! Gordon's pizza? - No sir it's Google Pizza. - So it's a wrong number? - No sir, Google bought it. - OK. Take my order please .. - Well sir, you want the usual? - The usual? Do you know me? - According to caller ID, the last 12 times, you ordered pizza with cheese, sausage, thick crust - OK! That's it - May I now recommend ricotta, arugula with sun dried tomato? - No, I hate vegetables - But your cholesterol is 7.4 - How do you know? - Through the subscriber's guide. We have your blood tests for the last 7 years - Okay, but I don't want this pizza, I already take medicine - You haven't taken the medicine regularly, 4 months ago, you only purchased 30 tablets at Drugs Online - I bought more from another pharmacy - It's not showing on your credit card - I paid in cash - But you did not withdraw that much cash according to your bank statement - I have another source of cash - This is not showing on your last Tax form unless you got it from undeclared income source
- What!! Google, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp can get lost. I'm off to an Island without the internet.
- I understand sir, but you need to renew your passport; it expired 5 weeks ago.."

Hi all.
Can't see GP for 2 weeks, hope whatever is wrong does not kill me in the meantime.
Spent day doing battle with Bindweed, think I lost.
OH left a message to say she has received an apology and a plea for me not to contact his wife.
Have a good evening..
