Morning all and happy July!  image

That retired firefighter deserves a medal, Dove.  It's awful that the fire safety of his tower block should depend on a resident pointing out flaws in the council's work though.

Poor Adele.  Hope the docs can do something for her damaged voice...

Topbird, that sounds an unpleasant job.  Good idea to get someone else to do it next time!  image

Punkdoc, hope the lurgy soon departs.

    Hi SGL!

Well, it's not raining even if the sun is a bit reluctant... must pick raspberries.  At least it doesn't involve bending down... it'll be a while yet before I can weed again, I fear...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hmmm, bulb catalogues, Joyce...  that's an idea.  My garden may look full but there's always room to squeeze in a bit more Spring colour.  image

I've just managed to cut some chard and made myself a lunch of Egg Foo Yung withonion and chard.  Delish.

Sounds yummy, Dove...  just got told off for making my back ache, pulling up gone-over rocket & salad veg.  image

Oh Dove, am still getting e-mail alert from June forum LOL, my youngest son says I am in the 50s, so I have a bit of catching up to do.  Will listen, remember, seeing the film The Towering Inferno in the 70, sand Steve Macqueen as Fire Chief saying you should consult with them, but why build blocks with no means of escape, if you want to add a storey to your house (bungalow?) you have to have building regs inspections, fire doors.

It's hard to believe it's that time of year again, but " Le Tour " has started, so that's the end of any possible early nights for us. The wet road can't be making it easy for them. So, night, night all.

    Hello all
I'm back from Daughter 2 and they've gone to friends' wedding today. I enjoyed seeing GD in her school play, more of a musical about emotions with singing and dancing. GD was anger, dressed in a red net skirt. She's 7.

July has come in like a damp squib, cool and grey.

I must go and collect my glasses in the village restaurant, left them there on Tuesday, been hunting. They've just rung.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I don't 'do' ladders more than 4 steps high Dove. Fortunately I have an OH who seems not to mind scaling the heights. I did the bottom halfimage

Solution applied - need to leave it 24hrs before brushing off.

We've also done lots of de-cobwebbing and washed the gutters, drainpipes and outside lights. The cobwebs seem to catch all the beech and birch seeds so they are very obvious at certain times of the year. House looks a bit better alreadyimage

From all the wasps that were buzzing round my head, I deduce there may be some nest building going on in the small roof space / eaves of the porch. It's a space with no access unless you remove the tiles and expose the rafters. Unless they start becoming a pest around the front door I'm minded to leave the wasps to do their own thing.

Would be grateful if anyone can suggest a reason why this is not a good idea.

They will be gone next year. It will keep cold callers, leaflet droppers and brown envelope deliverers away.

But you may find you want to get in or out of your house.

    In London. Keen but lazy.
