The loving care of good staff in a good home is worth it's weight in gold Liri ... I could not have given my parents the quality of life they had at The Lovely Home.
Goodness me! just when you think the thunder and lightning couldn't get any more fierce and the rain couldn't get any heavier ............... it jolly well does
If I had china on my non existent mantlepiece it'd be rattling !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I have just gotten home from an AWESOME assisted living complex. The eldest was 99 and youngest in their 70s.
One of the ladies insisted I took home some chocolates: after the week I've had the sheer idea of someone wanting to reward me for just being had a most wibbly wobbly feeling.
Impressive thunder storms with serous rain between 1 and 2 pm here and then we braved the elements to rescue the car from the meter before he overstayed his welcome and go and do a shop for supplies. Finished too soon to go back on a meter so we took off to Dnant for a bit of tourism. Gorgeous drive up the valley on the west side and then a wee boat trip up to Anseremme. The real tour boats were all hiding somewhere cos they've decided to "improve" the banks and quays and moorings and are only 3 years late.
A wee stroll, a snack and then photos of assorted arty saxophones on the main bridge and in some of the squares - Adolphe Sax's birthplace - and then home via an even more scenic drive down the east bank.
Hot and humid now with more storms expected tonight. We've decided to go to Luxembourg tomorrow as long as the forecast is OK.
Watching BBC 4 and Edward Plantagenet and his castles with a well deserved glass of wine.
Enjoy your chocs Clari.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Fingers crossed for you BL. OH says he's had a good storm today but not enough rain for my needs. Had to remind him that ran is not enough for pots and he has to water them anyway. Doh!
Gong to be very hot and humd in Luxembourg tomorrow so we may go to Maastricht instead as Friday is market day - fresh food, fruit, veg, meat, fish but also fabrics, clothes and household stuff and some of the most entertainng fruit and veg stall holders have ever seen. Should be good. André Rieu is in concert there tomorrow night but we won't stay for that. Not Possum's thing.
Bedtime for me. Sweet dreams all.

Chocolate is still sealed. I'm being very well behaved.
We've just eaten a delicious bar of chocolate with chopped toasted almonds in it
Our thunderstorms lasted three and a half hours!

I wonder if they will have watered the garden of our cottage.
Hot and muggy today. Was going to be sunny 25° for my Open Garden, perfect, now the forecast is thunderstorms and rain.
Hello , sitting outside looking at bats flying around , glass of wine , cigar , then flash of lighting , thunder and rain ! And it is heavy !
Oh dear, BL... perhaps you'll be lucky though. We were promised thunderstorms today and it's been a beautiful sunny day.
