Thanks folks. Sometimes I feel like like I'm suffering from "foot in mouth syndrome" with my multiple mistakes .
I'm safe with my sense of humour on the "Rez". Sometimes it's difficult not to offend on other threads .
I'll carry on posting regardless . Hope those of you who know me take my "tongue in cheek" posts with a pinch of salt, and understand that causing offence is not within my mindset .
Well, I for one, learned a great deal every single week with Geoff H. Even when it wasn't relevant to me or my garden he made it interesting and do-able and I couldn't wait to get out there on a Saturday and get stuck in. These days it can be Wednesday or even Thursday before I get around to watching GW despite MD's plot having so much in common (cold and wet) with my Belgian garden.
MD is articulate and well-meaning but often spouts rubbish I'm afraid and I find his obsession with hedging and separating areas quite claustrophobic. Gardening is about being outside and communing with nature and plants isn't it so what's wrong with a bit of open space instead of narrow vistas and everything hemmed in?
Beechgrove is very different in terms of climate and late season but still very relevant and informative and enjoyable.

Dont worry Kitty you haven't offended anyone I also think Geoff was lovely and I like Alan too I find Monty a bit tiresome not sure why. I agree with hosta too many dogs! I like dogs well enough but it's Gardeners world not crufts!
Up here in Scotland we only have one gardening show a year as FG said. It takes place at Ingliston on the edge of Edinburgh so although it is in the area of densest population there are still millions of gardeners throughout Scotland who cannot travel to it. BG has always supported this show by devoting one programme in the series to it. They will be back to normal next week.
My 2 favourite presenters were Geof Hamilton and Geoffrey Smith - both 'real' gardeners. They were somehow more inspiring than the current presenters - or maybe it is just that I didn't know as much then.

I'm sorry if I've inadvertantly set something off. My nod to Geoff was intended as a bit of lighthearted banter for the posters above mine.
Not your fault Kitty. Some people simply can't behave
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

There's only one GW presenter who I've heard ( regularly ) saying things which are factually inaccurate and it aint Alan Titchmarsh or Geoff Hamilton.
Alternative facts ?

getting it wrong? Mistaking personal preferences for facts?
