Springwatch is amazing, the presenters are amazing. what an amazing location to watch the amazing wildlife which is amazing and it's amazing how they set up those amazing camera shots to capture the amazing sights they get. Amazing.
I wish they'd use the word " Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing" more often.
Dove, I know the horse has bolted, but since I did my knee, I've retrained myself to turn by kinda leaning back on my heels and pivoting ( harder to explain than it is to actually do ), rather than twisting the whole leg.
Effectively, you're keeping your leg straight and not twisting through the knee.
Beautiful morning, just had coffee outside, already warm.
Now need to decide which of many jobs on the list to start tackling. Problem is, I usually get to the end of the day, having done nothing on the list, which has also grown increasingly longer.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
lovely sunny morning here ☀️☀️☀️ On my last day off this week so lots to do in garden also got big plant delivery for out of town garden centre coming at some point today
Hosta yes, I know ... but the thing is I have absolutely no pain to warn or remind me ... I rmean, I've been playing tennis for nearly two years with no problem, not even wearing a knee brace ... scrambling around gardens, moors, beaches and woodlands in East Anglia and the West Country with no problems, not even a twinge ... it's not dumped me on the ground since we were clearing ivy from this garden in 2011 and I picked up an arm full and turned around to walk to the skip and I found myself flat on my face on the path at the side of the house.
The last time my knee even twinged was while I was sliding sideways to sit at a table for breakfast in a Little Chef on a journey to Cornwall the year before we paid our first visit to you and your lovely garden ...
It's a bit frightening to be honest ... imagine knowing that you may suddenly fall flat on your face without warning ... the lovely doc at the hospital yesterday said 'that's no way to live' ... bless him.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Happy holiday to Yvie, but she's probably left.
Sun is shining but it's not too hot. Would like to tackle son's creeping buttercups in his flower beds but he would like me to hem some curtains. He has the rest of the week off and I will go home tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all. Hope you're well snuggled in that armchair, Pat!
Enjoy your hols, Yvie! I go to Finland next week, need to get packing.
I agree, Punkdoc, lists tend to get longer... it really helps to have a deadline (in my case, Monday) by which everything vulnerable will need to be planted out/potted on/staked etc. But garden pottering is so lovely...
Chris Packham doesn't annoy me on Springwatch. He's incredibly bright and knowledgeable, as well as being a one-off - and he puts the brakes on Michaela Strachan's worst excesses (of the "Amaaazing! Aren't they sweet!" variety). I suppose I could see how he could get up some people's noses though. And the programme itself is ace!
How lovely to have customers wanting to see your garden, Hosta! Perhaps you should open for the Red Cross?
Right. Need to collect the mattock & spade, and go and do a couple of hours in the park.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Saw your 'boot' Dove, looks very uncomfortable but hopefully will do the trick, just in time for a new knee. ?
I'm sat in a cafe in Bordeaux enjoying reading back before I face Ikea. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Sadly the cafes here just don't do long coffees, despite a long winded explanation but it's nice to be relaxing for a change. ?
Things are going to get hectic but I will try and keep up with you all. Charlie is on a sailing holiday with school. They've sent some pictures, he seems happy enough but I'll be glad when he safely home. ?

Customer last night:
" I know this might sound like an odd question.."
" go on" I said.
" Erm, can I come up and see your garden?"
She's coming up this morning with her husband.
