Indeed so Lily P. I'd never suggest that having a dog/( cat, horse, budgie, goldfish, boa constrictor), or not having one, in itself makes one a better, or worse person.
I've got lots of friends with dogs, some of them are adorable, some are vile, but I'd not have one of my own.
I had 2 when I was younger and loved them, but that was my Mother's house, not mine.
LP, I wasn't at the show. They were lucky as it's just been a smir of rain off and on and not sufficient last night to soak the ground. Friend said the Ayrshire tatties were being watered on the farms on the way to Girvan. Love new Ayrshires
Hello folks I've been looking around a lovely garden
Wonky has worked so hard, and the garden really looks like a 'Gardener's Garden' now ... she took me to a lovely plant nursery and we found ourselves a few bargains ... I bought a couple of Verbascums, Cotswold Beauty and Southern Charm and a Lav. angustifolia 'Miss Katherine' ... all three will go in the newly extended west facing border at the front of the house.
I've also come home with three Viburnum tinus ... possibly 'Eve Price' , which Wonky rescued a while back and potted up and saved for me ... I plan to use them to provide some structure on the Shady Bank ... Wonky also gave me some seedlings from her plum coloured wallflowers.
I grew up with dogs, always had dogs on the farm and smallholding, and my children grew up with dogs and I love (most) of them ... however my home and lifestyle have changed and nowadays a dog wouldn't suit us, and we wouldn't suit a dog.
However, from what little I know of Mr & Mrs Pdoc, I've a feeling that Mrs Pdoc may be a very wise woman

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Glad your home safely Dove so nice to have you see the garden improvements! Thanks for the tomato and courgette plants lovely day, lovely nursery, lovely plants...Lythrum salicaria 'Robert', Salvia 'ostfriesland', Geum, 'sunrise', Deutzia 'mont rose' and an unknown Coreopsis from the pound a plant bit! all planted and watered in!
Lilyp and Pat, thank you so much for the advise and sympathy, I do have carpal tunnel, first caused when using PC lots during English degree, it is terribly painful, Thursday was particularly bad day as I'd had a very big weeding job and all the hand tools were missing and estate manager was not there for the day! Had I known I would have taken my own tools, it won't happen again, I made a point of firmly explaining repetitive strain injury! Thank you for the exercise tip though, I will give it a try
Love the pictures of Malvern, saw it on GW too, glad a lovely time was had
Hands hurting so gonna rest for a bit, have a lovely evening folks
Glad to see you have all been busy Welcome home Pdoc (looking forward to new puppy pics ), great Malvern pics Beau
Got home from States to find Dad had had a fall. Cracked ribs and broken ankle. Been down there today to do some shopping for him and say hello. Seemed quite cheerful, and my sisters are down there tomorrow.
In other news.....seriously frosted standard wisteria showing signs of new growth. I really thought we had lost it, so delighted. Mr C started it off 20 years ago when Chicklet was born, would be devastated to lose it.
He's at home Joyce - nursing home was just a 2week halfway house between hospital and home after the heart infection he had over Christmas. Mostly he is pretty independent - but falls and broken bones make him less so.
The Malvern show looked good. Seeing those boards on one of them made me think of DDs earlier idea for her Cafe. I'm now wondering how she is going with everything. Probably too busy to catch up with us.
sorry to hear about your Dad, Chicky. I'm always alert to that sort of possibility when I'm scrambling around our rocky environment. The fist sized lumps of quartz are a real ankle turner.
The promised rain didn't appear overnight. Let's see what today brings, but it's still sunny out there.
My son didnt ring until 10.30 so I had a good lay-in for Mother's Day. My daughter will wait until the afternoon if I know her.
wonky, good to hear you've worked it out. Take it easy.

Chicky, sorry to hear about your dad. Is he in hospital or back in the nursing home?
