You must mean the elderflower head. Lily Pilly.  I just buried my head in its scent then took its picture.  This is the common ot garden one not the fashionable black leaved one.  Just beautiful.

Oh Marion I do feel ashamed, we have one but up in the rough ground. I must go and look at it!

    thanks

Lily Pilly no need to feel ashamed.  You probably do not realise my garden is a wildlife friendly garden and full of native plants as well as cultivated varieties.  And very often it is the natives that are the most beautiful.

I am used to my self seeding aquilegias offering me a choice of flower colour ranging from white to deep purple and all shades of blue or pink in between but this one is offering a variegated leaf cultivar.

A touch of autumn colour Marion.  I rather like the promiscuity of aquilegias!

I thought that too Joyce.  as they are coloured right from emerging I imagined them shivering  as they emerged one of those cold mornings and saying to each other "Oh drat,  We've missed the summer!"

Such a wet day.  There is a duck pond outside my kitchen.  Thank goodness for conservatories but I do need to clean windows as soon as the weather is better.
