Liri, another poor night I'm afraid. In bed at 11, up at 12, bed at 1, still awake at 2.
Wonky, mine too. I hate seeing anything being dumped which can be re-used. I too love the bright mornings, but "chilly" I could live without forever. If I never saw frost again for the rest of my life, I'd be happy.
Hubby is helping in the garden "all day" to day, so best make the most of him and get a wiggle on.
Sorry you have had another bad nights sleep Hosta. Hubby's help in the garden all day? Does he take instruction and direction well? The help is useful but after the greenhouse construction, don't think I'll be asking for Hubby's help for a while! Bless him, think he'd be glad! have fun!
Joyce, good luck at the dentist, I hope they are kind and gentle!
Best plan Pdoc, I'm on a self imposed watching the news ban, will only read the unbiased ish articles that I chose to, gardening is the best thing to lose yourself in I find!
Lirio, well done your OH. I know it'll take a long time but I like a challenge. No slides but a big box of old photos. They'll have to wait or perhaps I'll just leave them for the children to deal with
"Let's make June the end of May". I thought this was quite a clever slogan whatever your views, made me chuckle. Please don't be offended anyone.
Great news, Lilly P, about the family coming back to live. You will be able to see Baby's childhood. Have a lovely visit from them.
Glad DD sounds more cheerful.
Did quite a bit of gardening yesterday, fingers and knee really achey. Went to the Doc, aging processes , asked about cough too, chest is OK, he's says pollen count is very high, it's all over the car.
Will be voting for French President on Sunday. I've read a lot about the candidates recently and I've chosen, nothing too extreme. I can't vote in England anymore, been here too long. But I would hate to be in TM's shoes. Having to sort out something that she didn't want in the first place and what ever she does there will be those who disapprove. I would hate to have power, can't see the fun in being a politician.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Back from tennis ... had a good session, including winning my own service game against 'the best pair' to love Woo hoo!!!
I've also done some food shopping and been up to the GC for a bag of MPC - I had planned to prick out the tomatoes this afternoon, but it's clouded over and turned really chilly ... the forecast for the next few days is warming up a bit so I'll leave them for a day or so ... they're still quite tiny.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
A bit shattered here too, Yvie, after a morning spent barrowing and spreading stones in the park. Soil is raked and ready for seed sowing, but the wild flower seeds haven't yet arrived. We Wombled the top surface of the path & seating area, using sand from the pile of disintegrating sandbags left by the Environment Agency when they rebuilt the river wall recently.
The sand is clearly from two different sources, hence the multi-coloured effect. (We decided we liked it...) We're trying to persuade the council to give us some "scalpings" from road mending for a better top surface, but this will do for the time being.
The river is behind the wall at the back of the last photo; it overflows via automatic sluice gates into the park when the level rises beyond a certain point, but fortunately not across the bit we're "renovating".
That's what the football pitches in the top photo looked like on Boxing Day 2015.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Sorry, should have said for those who don't know - this is a group of volunteers who work in our local park. The path & seating area occupies a space where a huge sickly beech tree and a load of diseased rhododendrons had to be removed, and is intended for use by the local dementia care home to take folk in wheelchairs out to a sunny spot in the park. There will be benches suitable for the infirm, and permanent planting hopefully this autumn - the annual wild flowers are to give a bit of colour in the meantime.

Hi all.
Cold but sunny.
Will try to keep busy in the garden, so that I don't think about other things.

Afternoon all, feeling a bit shattered. Have lined and filled the pond today. It's looking good.
Keeping fingers crossed for you DD.
Sounds like progress is finally being made Clari, hope you feel better soon.
I think I might be looking at pond plant porn this afternoon.
