We only ever have one pair of geese. They arrive, they have their babies then they're gone until next year.
I agree a lot of them are a real mess, but one pair ( plus cute babies ), I can live with. I just hope the fox doesn't get them as has happened in previous years.
Yvie - how about letting him make his own pond? In a corner, out of sight, full of fish - and anything else he wants.....
I wondered when you said clematishad been frozen! I've done bog all outside, apart from putting half the washing out and watching the black clouds open. Cold wind, and my hands are troubling me a bit. Not a day to be doing the little jobs I wanted, so I had to resort to cleaning the oven....
...and putting the washing back out....and back in.....
I've been back out to sow a few seeds, lift some snowdrops for splitting, and pick up the little Cobaeas which the wind had couped
Gorgeous pix Hosta. Pity they grow up into big ugly beasts!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just realised that I neglected to say 'Welcome' to Kay8 - how rude of me. So hello Kay8 and welcome! I too am 27, like everyone else on here (just add 21 and you'll be closer) but unlike many others I did not grow up gardening, really, in fact I couldn't have been less interested until I was in my mid 20s and then - boom - I got the bug. Sounds like you've got some exciting times ahead with all your garden plans.
Hosta that polytunnel looks amazing! Lovely baby hostas. What size is the tunnel? It looks about the size of my whole garden.
It's quite a nice day here - much milder than of late, and sunny. My seeds have all started germinating like mad - very exciting.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
LG, that tunnel is 56feet x 21 feet. Sorry about the old school measurements, but that's how they come.
My other tunnel , the hot one ( all poly, no netting) is 48x21. That's full of evergreen agapanthus, cannas and hedychiums but makes way for tomatoes etc later.
Gosh Hosta, if you laid them end to end that is pretty much my whole garden! Pop a narrow bed all along either side and that's it. I thought it was quite big .
Someone suggest a plant for me on my begging thread, please . My mind has gone blank.

My Hostas aren't ugly beasts.

Wonky, I love the Prince salvia. I'd have hoovered up the lot.
Fairy, tsk. Less of the "old"
