The Robin here is pulling moss out of the lawn for nest building. The ducks have returned. I think they are a bit late this year, usually they are here for about six weeks or so, then they disappear again.

Cosmos is home and in good fettle, already gone chasing off round the garden.   Very chatty on the way home.

I usually go to Chelsea but not this year.  Maybe next, or maybe we'll go oop north to see the rellies and stop off at Chatsworth on the way and I can go the long way round via Geoff Hamilton's gardens.

Lily - we have given away nearly all of Possum's stuff apart from some particular baby clothes and cot sheets and the Duplo sets and the Beatrix Potter books.   Have a lovely time with your family and lots of new baby cuddles.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    Afternoon all!

Drowning in a sea of paint but loving how the house is slowly becoming a home.

I may well be AWOL rather a lot for a while. My pain levels have rocketed and this makes for a not terribly comprehensive Clarington.

Keep safe and I'll see you all on the other side x

Evening all. Little warmer now so I might go and do the grass after a cuppa.

I think on this thread - the regulars are all quite good at discussing politics Liri. There was a small 'faction' who made mischief but I feel we're all friendly enough here to say our piece but respect those with a different view....then move on to chat about  vine weevils, car/kitchen salesmen, babies or dodgy builders  image image

Didn't realise your hubby was a  musician. What's his forte?

LP - you'll have the joy of the visitors to take your mind off the election - at least for a while!

If they come round my door, they might get a swift knee in the n*ds if I'm busy. Sorry doc..image  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Hello all,

Hope you have all had a nice Easter. Lovely weather here, although a chilly wind today.

I've spent the weekend planning, thinking and writing lists about Chateau de Gateau, hoping that a positive mind set will bring positive results. ?

I was going to add some pics for you all but think I should wait a few more days until the bank definitely say yes, I don't want you all disappointed as well. ?

I've looked at the garden again today and can see such promise for a tea room garden. Please all keep sending positive vibes across the channel (or down south a bit Obélixx and across this way Pat). ?

Took Charlie for a bike ride and picnic yesterday, had a super time, he has so many plans for this enterprise, bless him. ? nice to enjoy the sun and be looking forward.

Have a good evening all, try not to think too much about politics, I'll keep you all posted. ???

Good to have a day out having fun DD.  Hugs to both.  PM me your email address if you want cake recipes.

Clari - rest and recuperate?  It doesn't all have to be done in a day.

There were some musical instruments at the exotic garden we visited on Sunday.  Bit dry but you can see what they were aiming at.  Hidden loud speakers playing classical music in this section of the garden.

I guess you're right about the amount of politics on here, Fairy.  I'm just a bit nervous in case anyone is upset by strongly-held views, expressed as if nobody could possibly disagree... I think I'm influenced by my OH, with whom I dare not disagree or he becomes morose, at the moment.  He has strong depressive tendencies, and worries a lot.

OH trained as a maths teacher, but he's always conducted choirs as a sideline, and written lyrics and the odd piece of music (and some pantomimes for children).

That's a lovely photo, DD!  I'm so glad that Charlie is so supportive; our children often surprise us by their maturity at a young age.  image

Sorry if you were upset or worried by my earlier posting Liri - it was a bit of an incontinent outburst on my part in response to the election news.image

I do have quite strong political views - but I very rarely vent them anywhere on the forum - and my original posting was intended far more as a comment on personalities rather than the political leanings of any of the individuals concerned.

I hope that if ever I do enter into discussions with anybody on here about anything, that I do so in a courteous and respectful way without belittling the views of others - even (especially) if their opinions are different to mine.

DD - what a lovely photo - still have everything crossed for good news re C de G x
