Poor Monty, we think he does a great job on GW and have no complaints to make.
How ever we carry out procedures in the garden, you can bet the next gardener will do them differently. We all adopt and adapt to a routine that suits us. Each of us has different soil, use different peat/non peat mixtures and if they work we use them again, if not we look to change or ask advice.
I don't see how anyone can justify criticizing him unless they are prepared to put themselves in his place. I do find it disappointing that people who stand up in the limelight are then targetted.
Enjoy your 65th birthday tomorrow Posy, seems like the ideal time to have a birthday - not like me in dull November and with no money to spare as everyone is saving up for Christmas.
Re Countryfile; they are having some serious items at the moment about the possible effects on farming of the removal of subsidies after Brexit. Lots of nice padding, it's true - but it airs on Sunday evenings, after all, when most viewers probably appreciate looking at scenery...
I'm 11 months younger than you, Dove. Though definitely not more than 27 on the inside...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Nooo - end of January is the worst. No one has any money, no one wants to go out for a meal because everyone is on a diet or has given up alcohol or some other stoopid New Year's Resolution and the weather is invariably pants.
Have a lovely Birthday Posy, lucky you to be celebrating in Spring

Thanks Dove! Got some new plants lined up as pressies for tomorrow!
I enjoy Countryfile, mostly because of the scenery and locations, but I did prefer it when it was more serious and less fluffy.

Thank you! It is a lovely time for a birthday, especially if the sun shines as it did today.

Great idea. Actually, I think EVERYONE should do the same. Happy Birthday to all of us.
