B****y mice My three pots of tulips have 2 inches of grit on top and are covered with slatted wood BUT. some bulbs are exposed and the green shoots eaten off some others. The bulbs are in a double layer so I should have some flowers.
Lidl have some summer bulbs in. 3 packets for a fiver. Dahlias, freesias, hymenocallis, gladioli. If anyone wants cut flowers the Priscilla gladioli are good for cutting. I am resisting.....
Cool lawnmower Verdun! I bought another lawnmower a couple years ago. I'm a farm boy in N America so no surprise it's a John Deere mower.lol
Problem with pests Joyce? My trick is to keep them distracted with cheap bird seed mix.
So I didn't make it to my bird feeding sites today. It was 1pm when I finished shoveling snow. And after yesterday's episode, I think I can skip a day. So I've been in the habit of biking earlier and earlier in the mornings to my feeding sites and have been slipping into my biking pants as soon as I get up and having a shower when I get home. I don't change my biking pants everyday but wear the same one for a week of biking unless I get them muddy. I do change my underwear every morning! So yesterday I change my underwear and hop into my pants and go start the coffee. Hour or so later I'm biking the trails and feeding birds. I'm leaving the last spot which happens to be right beside the downtown and the park is busy with office workers and such on their breaks. I walk my bike down the slope and onto the main path. There was something dangling on the bottom of my pant leg. I shook my leg and looked down. It was my underwear from the day before!! OH MY WORLD! I quickly bent down and snatched it up stuffing it into my coat and looked up to see a lady looking at me. She quickly looked away but I know she saw the whole thing. I was so, so, so, freaked out!!
