End of last year we moved into our new wheelchair accessible flat (council flat) and it means I can now get out into the back garden easily. Part of the garden is not accessible to me as it is on a slope with trees but the rest of the garden is decking and tarmac with no soil so everything will be in pots. We have already planted up several large pots and 2 troughs on legs which I can reach from my wheelchair. Planning on having several Phormiums (New Zealand flax) which will give us all year round colour along the edge of the decking and lots of plants friendly to bees, butterflies, birds and other insects. This all means we will be buying pots for a while, we want to get as many terracotta clay pots as we can so they are very heavy and hopefully impossible for anyone to steal.
Oh, I've only just discovered New Zealand Flax, CrypsWheelies and I'm in love with them! I planted several in both of my back gardens along the cedar fencing. They frame things up nicely. In my larger garden and are already coming back after our week of temps in the teens this year. So did the two potted below. Love plants that can survive a week of 19ºF. I potted two at the front garden pass-thru gate with some artificial "blooms": We have a cobalt blue bird bath in this garden and some other blue glass ornaments scattered about I haven't dug my holes for the 5 Liriope in the photo I just bought yesterday. That's my chore for today.
Next stage of plans are ready...Greenhouse arrives Monday, base needs slight adjustment as it is 6 inches shorter than the original one I was getting. I'll probably get round to amending that tomorrow weather permitting!
Lawn seed is taking in patches also, shouldn't take too long now

Great bench. Enjoy putting the greenhouse together :-).
I'll take a photo of the stepover apple tree tomorrow, Wonky (if I remember!), though it's not much to look at yet. Still, it has a few leaves starting to break open, which is more than could have been seen a couple of weeks ago.
My raised beds are finally full! But I haven't planted anything in them yet as they look so nice and full and I just keep admiring the 'fine tilth'. Silly I know.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Not silly at all LG! It takes enough of our effort, only right to appreciate it! hope your last week at work went well and wasn't too overwhelming. Imagine all the time that you will have for the garden! I know its not retirement, but not having your time dictated by the 9to 5 will be nice. I've just gone self employed as a gardener after being made redundant, loving making my own schedule! Looking forward to seeing the step over apple
Good news about the new greenhouse Wonky ??. I secured my "blowaway" a little too firmly, still standing after 3 years. Have a couple of cat claw shaped holes in the cover, maybe I should loosen it's base a little in the autumn .
The climbers have taken off like a rocket on your new pergola. Have you attached some wires to train them across the open gaps? Greened up in the summer, it will be a lovely privacy screen.
Good luck on construction day ? Have a cold drink in the fridge to celebrate when it's done ?.

We have these either side of the back door with lavender, primroses, pansies, bellis and pinks. Just the start of our container garden
Pretty! Your plant choices will be so nice together.
Bench fashioned from bits in the shed...back rest doubles as trellis for Jasmine!
LG do you have pictures of the step over apple? I've only every seen Titchmarsh speak about the style, I'd love to see!
I'm enjoying seeing more of your garden Peggy, love the winding paths
Crpwheelies, what a cheerful welcome to your back door, the silver of the lavender looks lovely with the primroses and violas
Just catching up on your projects and loving them all ?
