Thank you @AnniD. I shall have a look at the link. We've had a massive house renovation going on including the garden, so have no grass, garden at all and piles of rubble, bricks, wood etc. Initially, I did put food out, but when we had to put in temporary fencing- we no longer saw hedgehogs on the cameras- so assumed they couldn't get under the fence- hence I stopped the feeding. The fencing will be gone soon- so I shall resume. Thanks.
I had a very unhappy hedgehog in the garden on Monday. I cut the grass and dumped it on the pile at the bottom of the garden. Thankfully there wasn't a huge amount as the old mound started to move and a lovely fat hog came out, distinctly unimpressed. I checked a little later and it had disappeared, presumably to somewhere it could get some peace.
I had a very large hoggy in the garden this morning at 4am, unfortunately it's still there and moving about the garden being harassed by Magpies, it took shelter in the hog box about 10 minutes ago, it's either poorly or can't find its way out of the garden, will have to have a good look around for it when I get in from work.
Glad to hear that it got away from the magpies @Sheps. It's possible that they have sensed it's vulnerable for some reason. If you can find it when you get back from work and it's still alive, please contact your local rescue or the BHPS for advice .
Hi @AnniD... it's still in the box, so have topped up the food and water and have covered the exits while tonight, I will contact the local rescue and see what they say.

It took several laps of the garden, ignoring the exit under the fence and finally realising it could squeeze under the back gate 👍
