Last night had a lot of activity in the feeding station, the dish got pulled close by the entrance and food tipped out.

The night before there was one round the other way with his back to us and  then another one came in and blocked the way out and the other one had to wait for him to finish.
  • I must admit that I haven't checked up on Bruce, @AnniD .  Our rescue centre is wonderful and with over 100 hogs in their care at any one time, I feel that phoning them is a waste of their valuable time.  Every now and then we do receive updates, but I prefer to let them do the contacting as and when they have news for us. We have taken so many hogs from around here to the centre this year - for bird attacks, traffic accidents, ticks etc. I do hope that some of these creatures have survived.

Fair point @Guernsey Donkey2, l know exactly what you mean  :)
Our local rescue is having an Open Day tomorrow, hopefully they will raise a lot of money. The forecast is good, which always helps. I might pop along myself to see what hedgehog related items are for sale.....
  • Our centre does have open days too, and induction sessions for new voluntary staff, some of them manage to get permanent jobs there too - a member of our family worked there for some years - they loved the job, so varied and never mundane. Enjoy your visit AnniD and don't take too many home with you!
  • So cute @AnniD.🙂
Last night had the hog cam out. Usual hoggie arrived about 12.30 am,  it was back and forwards to the food for the next three hours!
Another hog came during this time, slightly bigger, and I dont know if I'm feeding them too well but this one was as round as a ball with what looked like extra padding across its shoulders. ( looked a bit like what they call a widows hump)🤔 It looks well ready for the winter.

  • Don't know if hoggie came last night as it rained all yesterday,  last night and this morning, but I do know the blackbirds and robin are enjoying the floating hog biscuits.🙂

We have three regular visitors and all the hog food we put down is gone by morning.  We have made a couple of hog houses for the winter, so I have hopes that at least a couple will stay with us.
We looked at the prices at the GC and online, and the houses are very expensive for what they are.  But we have made a couple at a fraction of the cost.  Fingers crossed that all our food encourages them to over winter with us!
  • I cut some branches a week ago so put them behind the shed, when enough leaves have fallen, won't take long, plan to pile some in there too, so hopefully we will both be lucky @Hexagon.😁

It's perfectly possible @Hexagon. If it's nice and sheltered, you never know.
"My" hedgehogs have disappeared and haven't been seen for around 3 weeks (not sure exactly how long). They usually disappear earlier in the Summer and reappear in Autumn,  l am keeping my fingers crossed and still putting cat biscuits out.
They are such a worry ! Probably found a better restaurant......
