These Dianthus were from last summer, but they started to give up when winter arrived, so I rescued them and left them in the GH all winter. They seem to like it there.image

Gorgeous Pat. They really must make you smile image

Dianthus are one of my favourites, but they get a bit manky here over winter. I might try keeping some under cover so that they don't get drowned!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Minstrel kitten is named after a dianthus I lust after.  Haven't seen it on sale yet so have made do with some lovely pink and cerise and two-toned ones which do well in the sunny bed at the front and stayed out all winter with no probs.

Never been much of a fan of most Michaelmas daisies as I find them floppy and the flowers a bit too teeny but I did bring some special white and deep purple ones with me and, lo and behold, they've grown shorter and stockier and very floriferous in this climate so now I've bought a lilac one.

Brought and have bought some persicarias too.  Just need a bed for them.

Lovely photos everyone.  Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Glad you all enjoyed them. I wasn’t sure how they’d go after I rescued them from the garden at the beginning of winter - they looked rather bad. But, after plonking them in tubs and putting them in the GH over our very cold and prolonged winter, I’m well pleased that they seem happy there. I’m not sure whether to put them outside again or to just leave them where they are. Our temps are rising now, but even this morning, it wasminus 0.3. Hard to believe at this time of year.

Ive got young tomato plants in small pots in the GH as well, and they are flowering and obviously wanting to go out, but I’m not game yet. Contradictory weather.

We drove out to our back area today and the dams are very low. Still no rain.
