Thankyou James. i don't have gravel paths but could try some mixed with slug pellets around the base.

i don't have many birds to keep slugs down as the seagulls tend to push out the smaller birds but we do have a few blackbirds so will have to try to encourage them to stop by for a snack.

Oh, good idea. I was thinking jam. A lady on my allotment suggested to make gooseberry and orange jam, if I ever get enough berries that is!

    See original post

Never heard of that jam, sounds good.

Gooseberry and elderflower jam is favourite here ... use elderflower cordial if you don't have access to elder flowers.

I've been allowed to hobble out into the garden today with my camera to see what's happening ... imageimage

Hi Papi Jo, it's Sweet Rocket ....... Hesperis matronalis alba ........ the perfume on warm evenings is wonderful.

It started as one small plant from a roadside stall in 2012  image

Ooh, goose and elderflower sounds good tooimage I've toyed with the idea getting an elderberry for my allotment...

Why are you hobbling Dove? Okay, I hope? I like your blue clematis it's fabimage

Some stuff from today in between minor rain showers:

This was a replant project last winter, moth zone #2

    image

Still working on the shade border, need to cover the fence I think?

    image

I like this unplanned combo - trying to phase out the yellow poppies, much prefer the orange

    image

Free gift alliums and the dregs of the broom

    image

These arranged themselves rather artistically I think

    image

Part of moth zone #1, the hedge border

Might have over-done the alliums, if that's possible?
