I'm not keen on the pink jobs either, AR - except for the wild ones. What a beautiful acer! Mine's just about to turn.

    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • What a beatufil Acer Joyce, it looks stunning, mine are just a mess of green and brown at the moment.  Not very attractive.  However here are a few colourful offerings taken yesterday when we had sunshine.imageGaillardiaimageTagetesimageAntirrhinum Sunset Miximage

  • Thanks Joyce, what a difference a bit of sunshine makes doesn't it - yesterday was glorious and the plants and flowers really did come alive in the sun, today not so good.

Yes those tagetes seeds were saved from two years ago, and are still producing pretty flowers. The rose was given to us by our last self catering family about 5 years ago, they still visit us each year and admire their rose! Happy memories.

Lovely colours, but are you sure they are Tagetes? They look like Zinnia "Profusion" to me with those leaves.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

  • Tagetes Busy L.  I have grown them from seed for the past couple of years although they don't look so good this year due to the poor mid summer weather we had here.

Gosh your garden is neat Maria and I must say the long border does look lovely - nicely planted. Who cuts the topiary? It is quite an art to get it to such perfection.

It's worth growing deciduous azaleas for their autumn colour

Maria - a very manicured and neat garden - does that reflect your personality? Goodness knows what mine says about me... eclectic mix of traditional, modern and wild!?

I don't think I have seen a deciduous Azalea - loving the Autumn red.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

These delicate harebells have been amazing and have flowered for months, still producing buds now (1st. picture).
