Thanks Liri. The whites were chosen for that reason. I love that lush feel that we normally have at this time of year, and the whites work well with green and soft yellows, in sun or shade, before all the purples come along.
Yes - Miss B. I'm actually not that keen on the bigger flowered types, but the greenish bars and purple anthers are nice on it, and it's particularly pretty in the morning as it's in shade, and shows up really well against the fence with the white broom just along from it. Also when it's getting dark
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just love those lupins Papi Jo, they are majestic - are they earlier this year? We tried growing some lupins twice, but both times they were eaten by we assume slugs before they flowered. Your garden does look nice - well laid out.

Wow. Gorgeous colours in your garden, Joyce.
Love the Azaleas Joyce. So colourful and they make a wonderful display.
do you naturally have acidic soil or do you help it along? We've got a pH of about 6-6.5 here, so only slightly acid.
Yes Pat. Fortunately the soil is acidic as I love azaleas and rhododendrons.
Love the Azaleas joyce , they are some bright at this time of the year compared to everything else
