Took some height off hedging behind pond last week... this now allows some afternoon light to shine over the pond, casting lovely reflections of the Acer.

Autumn-flowering Heathers just coming out, under the Acer tree.

    New aquistion: Echinacea 'Meditation'.

  • Lovely Echinacea AuntyRach, I am fairly new to these lovely flowering plants that are so beloved by the bees.

Yes Papi Jo, the Ginger Lily plant is completely hardy here, we never do anything to it - and it still keeps producing these wonderful flowers for us.

The photo of the Echinacea doesn't really show the subtle lime-white of the petals and yellow of the cone centres. It seems to change in the light.

I will be seeking out some pink ones for next year for my purple and pink border. I'm guessing these are not slug-proof, so will be keeping this one in a pot this year.

My acidanthera always flowered late September, October, but they didnt flower last year, and no flower buds this year, plenty of green leaves, any ideas?

My Acidanthera didn't flower this year either in spite of feeding well at end of last season. Might have to give in & buy new.

Finally worked out how to get pics from my Phone to here. I  was downloading but could not find where the files were going on my Laptop!

This is a "hybrid" Chrysanthemum from last year can't wait to see if it does it again this year.

  • Lovely colours Joyce, more of an orange twist to them than our version.  Hedychium are such striking flowers and have the ideal back drop there against your fence. Thanks for sharing and I hope you can continue to enjoy them for many days/weeks yet.
