Wow. Superb photos everyone thank you. I LOVE this thread
I follow the fantasy sculpture on Facebook. I was in touch with the charming artist when he first started trying to get a fairy. He was sooooo apologetic that he was too busy. Now I see his art being fully appreciated. Very ? that you have them
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
In January 2016 I planted 48 seeds that I thought were from the thuggish iris pseudacorus (or big yellow thing in the pond to you and me). It was a fun experiment in germination rates to keep my mind busy.
I did have a purple iris (Iris versicolor kermisina) in the pond but yellow thing had quickly crushed it's spirit and I assumed taken over.
So imagine my delight when I found that after my experiment the five seedlings I had kept (I.e. forgot to put in the compost bin owing to having been distracted at the time and never quite gotten round to it) one produced the above!
There's no sign of flowers from the other four but I am hoping that a few more might show promise and I'll use them to replace yellow thug.

Nick your garden is beautiful! Is that the last patch of grass you have?, between the little pond and plants. Will you be keeping it? How long has it taken to get the garden looking the way it does?
Hi Mary. This was my garden just 15 months ago. I looked out my window one morning and said to myself, that's a total mess... I am now so hooked into gardening, I just love it.

Lovely Clari. I really like growing plants from seed,
all the other photos of flowers are spectacular. I never aim for that sort of display - too old to keep up the weeding and watering.
Hi folks, just like to say thanks for posting the photos. They are beautiful. I'll post some when I get sorted after the holiday.
I do too LilyP ❤️

Sunday morning at 11am. Yesterday's washing still in the line and probably wetter than when I left it out there.
