I think Antirrhinums are much undervalued. The sort of plants that I grew when I had a small garden plot in my parents garden. They are very promiscuous so you never quite know what you are getting. But they do give a good display.

That anemone flower is a stunningly  beautiful. . The colour and the veining really set it off.

Small anemones  do not seem to grow in my garden.

  • Thanks Pat.  I have tried anemone blanda but they don't want to grow in my garden either Iamweedy, but I have had some success with these de Caen - this is their third year.  However the rain today has flattened that lovely flower - so glad I took a picture of it yesterday.imageHarebells grown from seed this year.imagePyracantha - berries on their way out, but still colourful.imageWe couldn't find a name for this plant, it has been producing these pretty yellow flowers for a few months now.imageThe last of this year's Masquerade flowers. A good bit of colour yet GD.

The birds stripped my pyracantha berries a few weeks ago.

  • GD, that pretty yellow flower is a Hypericum, but I don't know which.  image

I should have some Pulsatilla vulgaris  and Snakes head Fritillary  coming through next spring.

This flower bed has been a bit mauled about a bit this year.
