I think Antirrhinums are much undervalued. The sort of plants that I grew when I had a small garden plot in my parents garden. They are very promiscuous so you never quite know what you are getting. But they do give a good display.

Thanks Pat. I have tried anemone blanda but they don't want to grow in my garden either Iamweedy, but I have had some success with these de Caen - this is their third year. However the rain today has flattened that lovely flower - so glad I took a picture of it yesterday.Harebells grown from seed this year.Pyracantha - berries on their way out, but still colourful.We couldn't find a name for this plant, it has been producing these pretty yellow flowers for a few months now.The last of this year's Masquerade flowers. All these pictures were taken yesterday.

That anemone flower is a stunningly beautiful. . The colour and the veining really set it off.

The birds stripped my pyracantha berries a few weeks ago.
GD, that pretty yellow flower is a Hypericum, but I don't know which.
Nice long season of colour GD. Lots for the bees. My Canterbury Bells have just come in to flower

Lovely pix GD. The harebells have been really successful
I still have a few flowering here too. Still have all my pyracantha berries Joyce. The blackies haven't needed them yet.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I should have some Pulsatilla vulgaris and Snakes head Fritillary coming through next spring.
This flower bed has been a bit mauled about a bit this year.
