Lovely pic Cloggie. The early light in wnter is so beautiful.

No 'e' on the end of hoar though. Don't worry - we'll keep trying till everyone gets it right  image  image

I keep forgetting to take pix on frosty mornings. Took one of some new hellebore flowers today in the rain though. This flowers almost constantly - right round the year. I do nothing to it except a bit of B,F&B in spring, and remove any manky leaves. Best value plant in the garden!

  • Sorry, boring photo alert but I got excited seeing my alliums growing that I'd sunk in pots ready to move when ready (purple sensation romping away!).

Andy, I think most of us get excited at the signs of spring growth. So much to look forward to. image

In my defence I didn't know what a hoar frost was yesterday but now I do, and how to spell it!  It was a work day when we took these and one of us opened the curtains and went, "Wow!" then we were both out there with cameras.  Here's one that Mr Cloggie took, I think I like his shot better.

Also I went out and checked my hellebores and snowdrops and I've got some, which is nice (hadn't noticed).

Really lovely Cloggie and you have a beautiful plot there. Bet you never tire of that view  image

We currently have hail and sleet which isn't so good for photo taking....image

It's a great plant Berghill. Blue Lady. The colour in the pic is accurate - a good plummy purple.  The flowers are a bit more upright than some varieties. I intend getting White Lady too. Seems very happy in our climate and I now have loads of little seedlings round it, so I might have to get them into pots to distribute around  image

Don't expect them to be the same as the parent, but it really doesn't matter. I'll tuck them somewhere if the colour isn't right  image

Great snowdrop pics berghill.  Thought you might like to meet my new hellebore.  It's from the 'Evolution' range bred by Ashwoods.

Oh sorry it wont load, it's just to difficult to post photos on this site.  You missed a treat, it's a beauty.

Thank you Fairygirl and Chicky but I can only take credit for tidying up what was already there and enhancing it.  The trees and structure were put in by someone over 14 years ago - I think they did a great job.  I added the summerhouse and pergola, removed the brambles and cleared a line of brush backing on to the farmland at the bottom.  It is a work in progress but then isn't everyone's garden? image  Oh and this is its best angle - turn around and horror! he he
