It's gone very gloomy here Marion, but it was sunny and mild this morning, so I was able to spend a few hours pruning some of the community's apple trees. These ones have been planted round the medical centre in the town so that everyone can enjoy the fruit. There are a lot of soft fruit bushes too, but that's a job for another day!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Very sunny and mild and dry today so I went to get my repeat prescription full of the joys of spring and found the pharmacy had a note from my doctor to have my BP checked which I did only to find it was very high so now i have a checkup tomorrow morning. Grr just when i wanted to take advantage of every daylight hour to catch up a bit in the garden.I know a garden is never ever completely done but after the cold weather mine is sadly neglected. I will get some done now though after coffee and Madeira cake( the real stuff with lots of spice and nuts on top not what the recipe books in English give you at all!)
degrees already today and forecast to reach 11 in the afternoon. My friend visited Painswick Rococo gardens in Gloucestershire with his gardening club and emailed me lovely pictures of the maze, snowdrops and ferns in the grounds.
I went to the surgery for my check-up with the nurse and my BP was spot on !40/80 so he sent off some blood tests and gave me a ten minute appointment with our new GP next Wednesday evening to get the results. I think the surgery may have decided to give we who are approaching ninety a yearly check-up. I do not have any adverse symptoms so not expecting any devious results. Weather great for gardening and the green wheeliebin was emptied this morning so bamboo here i come.
Lovely photos Marion. I have been to that Rococo garden you mentioned, very beautiful. I managed a hour in the garden today and got OH to cut all the new growth around the Bluetits nesting box. They like a clear flight path for their babies and I expect they will be house hunting soon!

Mmmm... love that Madeira cake, Marion. I believe it's their traditional Christmas or Feast Day recipe. Lots of molasses sugar, fruit and spices.
Hope you get the raised BP sorted without too much problem. Can't have anything interfering with gardening...
