Brrr I waited till the afternoon hoping for warmer weather when the sun came out but after half an hour my hands and feet were so cold I had to come in.  My first white hyacinth is showing its bud ,  it is a Carnegie whic is white so does not show the cold just like snowdrops.

A slight dusting of snow this morning, enough  to make the garden look pretty but the paths are treacherously icy.

Rain this morning and dark as night still but forecast s for drier weather later and 4 degrees so an improvement on the chill of yesterday if only slight.  The 0 degrees forecast for tomorrow seems balmy by comparison so will have to wait till then to get any gardening done.  What the couples did in ten or so weeks to their gardens trashed by building works on "Big Dreams, Small Spaces" on Friday evening made me very hopeful that I can uncover the rest of my terrace this year.

GWRS. it was reading the book "Lost Gardens of Heligan" that started me off.  Every chapter in the book got more and more exciting.  It was like a great detective story and really emphasised the pleasure the discoveries were bringinh so i thought I would give it a go with my long lost terraces!

Temp 4C today but to be 8C on Tuesday.  I have been stuck in the house all week due to this 'flu' bug and it's too cold to venture out for a walk round the garden.
