Morning all/afties Pat when you appear. Hope it's a bit cooler for you today image

Very mild here - it's seriously weird for the time of year image

Older fairylet is working at 8 today and I offered to take her. Slightly regretting that - can't get my tea in peace  Joyce image

Glad it went ol last night Clari. Horrible when these things happen close to home. There's been two incidents near me since I moved here-one round the corner and one near my family home. Highly unusual for these areas as they're not usually targeted for that kind of crime.

Obelixx won't have far to look for her kitchen if she's had a look on here image

Hi everyone. Today has been the hottest yet!  Enough said. I've been inside all day. I've put lots of new photos on the jigsaw site.image Nothing better to do.

The weather bureau has promised a cooler change moving through in the next 24 hours. I'll believe it when I see it.

I assume everyone has now forgiven us for having an air conditioner fitted into our living room. I'd have been pretty sick without it today. There is a large out of control bush fire north of Canberra which is being pushed east towards the coast. All the media are keeping an eye on it.

hope you are all not freezing.

She could get a good fire going with one of 'em Joyce  image

Pat - I don't envy you that heat at all! It's strangely mild here for the time of year, even on the hills where it's been warm enough to melt the snow again image

Think Dove will have some frost today. I'd much rather have frosts, although we don't have any proper rain today - it's just damp. Much healthier to have a cold dry day. We've had some good frosty dry days this winter and it was lovely. So much nicer than our usual weeks of cold, windy wet stuff, although there's still plenty of time for that!

Better go and get organised for work. Catch you all later  image

    Nothing to forgive, Pat.

Its like anyone in Scotland having central heating and triple glazing. Kind of essential.

If the outside temperature is above blood heat, if you can't cool off, you will get heatstroke.  Even though it is dry heat, which I can tolerate more than humid heat, I would be looking for somewhere cool. While working, some of the places used to get very hot in summer.  I used to find an excuse to go to the supermarket and loiter by the freezers.

    Morning all.

I think we're paying for a lovely crisp Autumn, with a decidedly soggy Winter.  No visible hills again today, hardly any wind, drizzle in the air.  We'd normally be off to Madeira next week, and I'm now pining for warmth, higher light levels and bright flowers.  Ah well, on with the daylight-simulating lamp again.

Flats in the centre of my town (built in the 1970s) have air conditioning.  I think they use it a couple of times a year; the rest of the time it just drips on the heads of passers-by.  The kitchen in my current house is a pretty even temperature, as it's built into the hillside (this used to be 2 back-to-back terraced houses, so the current kitchen was the cellar of the back house), so if it's really hot outside (not often around here!) the cat and I sit on the kitchen floor to cool down.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Morning all.

No problem with the heat here. We seem to have acclimatised nicely. Hubby has taken to taking a hoody out to dinner at night and yesterday we were walking on the beach and decided to head back as it was " getting a bit chilly" When we came through the hotel gate , the thermometer was reading 27C at 18.20. Chilly indeed.

If builders wanted to build next to me , I think I might be tempted to wait and chat with them if my plot was big enough to make a difference to their plans. I know for some it might be a gamble, or not worth the effort.

Run out of reading material so might casually saunter into the hotel along the road and see if there's anything there which catches my eye.

Another lazy day by the pool. Some birdy folks have headed off this morning for 4 days serious bird watching. Crates and crates of water, beer, wine and lots of Khaki. Clothes shopping must be so easy... " does this come in khaki? " image

Keep warm/ cool and dry one and all.

    Devon.
