Thanks folks, your comments much appreciated! *The main tree has led a 'charmed life' since its 'out-of-skip' resurrection in the late '80s.....I like to think that it has now reached its "Forever Home" with our family? **(Still more 'alternative tree' pics to follow soon - my junior helpers haven't turned up yet!!).
Meet "Doris" - the charming fairy atop our 2nd 'alternative reality tree' -her original home was in the Ukraine...[I'm afraid the Little Helpers deployed their 'Invisibility Cloaks' & covered not only themselves but Doris' tree as well!!]. *I'll try coaxing them with fairy cakes, maybe there'll be a picture of their tree-dressing soon....?
Here's a 'rescued' picture of Doris' Ukrainian tree (from a couple of years ago). *The 'junior helpers/ elves' had far less influence then as they were much, much younger in elf years.
BTW: The 'tree' dismantles totally & the complonents fit into a slim box about 40x10x10 cms, including all decorations. We were gifted it about 25 years ago during an exchange visit to Uman, 100+ kms south of Kiev. [Uman was 'twinned' with Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire at that time].
Our tree has not got such a romantic story to tell David, but we like it, with decorations passed from mother to daughter, with a few extra hand made (me) felt shapes, & a fairy I bought from Woolies to decorate the tree in his flat the year I met my husband
Thanks, Joyce21: Glamorous is not the only word - she has developed very expensive tastes since migrating to the far western edge of Europe - she's worn out/ lost THREE tiaras, & quite likes the odd nifty flute of 'fizzy wine' (when no-one is looking!).
Guernsey Donkey: I quite like your stories too. Adds a 'personal' dimention with each successive turn around the calendar!
Ok this site is playing silly beggars. I have managed to up load this dated 11/12/16 on two threads now but I cannot get the baubles photo I took this morning to work.
Any suggestions of what might be wrong? Or where on here could I get advice?
