    This is all fake apart from the cones and the original twig base which I have added to and subtracted from over the years. It hangs over the living room door and I b**tack my cards in all the glass 'windows' of the door - front and back.

    Runny, would he entertain a "bunch" of holly 'n stuff tied at the top with a bow. Attach it to the doorknocker in the same way...... It's not round, like a wreath???image

    Rb   I sit a small wreath over a large , thick candle on the hearth so it's not 'wreath-like'.

    Runny beak, it's probably not the look you crave, but there are lots of 'alternative' wreaths on the Country Living link here, which might not have the same connotations for your OH?
